Wizard of Oz is public domain. No one has the exclusive rights to it, just to versions of it.

And the Marvel-> Wicked rumor was a BS one made up by Jim Hill.

I'm pretty certain that's where I heard it, ha.

How will Mr Robot, a show aimed for older audiences, be in a land outside of a quick reference?

Easy...I would set it up as an escape room interactive mystery where you join fsociety as vigilante hacker...not everything has to be a ride.

I've never seen Mr Robot but I really love the idea of an escape room. I've never been to one but they come to my city every year and everybody I've ever spoke to who's been in one absolutely loved it.

Dunno how well an Escape Room would hold up under theme park capacities

Don't be so sure...why do you think WB is rebooting Akira, Death Note and all these other animes along with Sony and DreamWorks doing Ghost in a Shell. If there absolutely is no appeal in anime whatsoever why is Hollywood jumping on it so fast.

When these make money, then we'll talk.

As-is Anime is a niche product.

Might be more of a CityWalk type attraction. Add a deal similar to golf/movie and a meal and I'm sold.

They shall call it...

Lol ... they are in my household :)
Get what you mean though, ask the man on the street what he thinks of Evangelion, and he'd have no clue.

I think a massive Escape Room-type challenge would be the best way to do a Legend of Zelda attraction personally, I just don't know how feasible it is

So, I get the feeling Park 3 is close. Like, 5 years close. I've heard it mentioned that Uni's design aspirations were (at a time) Tokyo DisneySea-esque. Thinking about it, I'm also reminded of the "New Park" survey Uni sent out last year asking people to design 4(?) lands of 5 attractions each, and I'm going to predict we won't see WWoHP-like "lands" based on one property. Instead, we'll have esoteric lands that evoke a feel and allow multiple properties to be represented/capitalized on while also allowing room for original properties. I'm thinking Uni may be designing their own "Disneyland" style park.

Sci-Fi
-Star Trek
-Metroid
-Space Fantasy
-Pacific Rim

Fantasy
-LotR (If possible)
-Legend of Zelda

Monsters
-Uni Monsters
-Scooby Do or Luigi's Mansion
-Dare I say that Sally Walking Dead ride?

Adventure
-Pokémon
-I could see a lot of original attractions here

Just spitballing, but I would not be surprised if this was the sort of direction they went

But I want Hyrule Castle Town :(

Then again I also really want Metroid and the only chance it would have would be this kind of layout.

There are so many variables at play. How big is the room, how many people can it hold, how long does the average person take, how long does it take a moron, is it different every time you play?

If Japan can do it with way more visitors than USO, I'm sure we can do it in Orlando. The only trouble that can possible arise is transitioning and staffing as you have to reset after each group but then again Japan's was also an escape house with three floors. I guess same thing just theme it to a temple

I would prefer something like Forbidden Journey.

I mean, sure, there could be a great Zelda ride like that, but the best way to represent the franchise is solving a puzzle and getting to the end of a dungeon.

You could do a hybrid...a epic thrill ride where you challenge the boss at the end of a dungeon and using pre ride queue rooms as escape rooms to balance out the line like they did with Gringotts.

Monsters are part of it too. Maybe they could do a big E Ticket and a dungeon experience. Thinking of it now I would love hearing the "puzzle solved" jingle.

Just copy and paste the link above, for some reason it keeps changing to media and then it won't load.

Just seen this, I think the Raptor encounter was a great addition and I'd like to see it taken a step further.

USJ is less an international park, that's the issue. Plus the escape room was a temporary attraction in a country that has it engraved in their culture. I don't think Americans are as exposed to escape rooms. Still a neat idea though.

The main issue with an escape room in a theme park like Universal is time involved, capacity and upkeep. The typical escape room attraction is an hour. That would be way to long for most people to consider doing in a theme park, not when there are countless other rides they could be riding during that time. Anything less then 30 minutes though really would dilute the experience.

So say they went with a 30 minutes experience. Having to figure the full length of time for people to complete it, you would have to have 12 rooms going, each staggered so as to load every 5 minutes... Now expect about 5-6 people per room. That's a capacity of around 750 an hour.... Very low for a park like Universal. And then there is the issue of wear and tear with the constant amount of people pouring into a room designed to be poked, prodded and rummaged through.

Now if they offered as an up charge attraction it could work, but at that point it would probably be more beneficial to place it in City Walk.

IF people still can ride Ellen Energy Ride @ Epcot or audition for Fear Factor/American Idol/etc...I'm sure an hour wouldn't bother anyone
