They'd find a way to shoehorn Klingons in somehow, but yeah.

Still don't see it coming, tho. Universal has a much better record at picking IPs (Minions, Transformers, F&F, Hello Kitty) than online fans.

Godzilla is literally the only other viable current sci-fi IP, and there's more money to be made in merch with Star Trek.

Yea but Godzilla is way cooler.

I also wouldn't consider Godzilla to be sci fi, personally.

Since NBCUniversal is reviving Cruel Intentions, can we get it in a dark ride version for the third park....just for Sarah Michelle Gellar.

So, I get the feeling Park 3 is close. Like, 5 years close. I've heard it mentioned that Uni's design aspirations were (at a time) Tokyo DisneySea-esque. Thinking about it, I'm also reminded of the "New Park" survey Uni sent out last year asking people to design 4(?) lands of 5 attractions each, and I'm going to predict we won't see WWoHP-like "lands" based on one property. Instead, we'll have esoteric lands that evoke a feel and allow multiple properties to be represented/capitalized on while also allowing room for original properties. I'm thinking Uni may be designing their own "Disneyland" style park.

Sci-Fi
-Star Trek
-Metroid
-Space Fantasy
-Pacific Rim

Fantasy
-LotR (If possible)
-Legend of Zelda

Monsters
-Uni Monsters
-Scooby Do or Luigi's Mansion
-Dare I say that Sally Walking Dead ride?

Adventure
-Pokémon
-I could see a lot of original attractions here

Just spitballing, but I would not be surprised if this was the sort of direction they went

I kind of agree with you on that, especially in light of that survey and the direction it appeared to be taking.

For Sci-F/fantasy/adventure IPs, I also wouldn't put it past Comcast to put in Mr. Robot/or one of the Syfy channel shows into the park for synergy purposes especially with Mr Robot and the Expanses growing popularity.

That's what I expect as well.
Pacific Rim would be great (closest we'll get to Evangelion), they should use the Kuka ride technology from Forbidden Journey, could be quite impressive.

I'd seriously doubt anything other than a passing reference.

At this point; with UniversalCool; I have to imagine that Evangelion may not be far out of the reach of possibility. Atleast; in my book, if PR doesn't work in their best interests.

They also have a reboot of BSG possibly incoming, so I could see them try to import Singapores attraction for this coast if they feel that need.

Ehhhhhh. I wouldn't take anything that happens in Japan to be a serious option for an east coast transfer. Those are temporary exhibits to boost revenue in Japan. I don't think they'd have any chance of happening in Florida.

I gotta agree with Skip on this one. Pretty much all of Syfy's shows (regardless of quality, because they have some sold shows) have small followings a not much in the way of solid GP recognition.

This is the same company that is putting in a tonight show ride...I kinda wouldn't put it past them. Same thing for the Japanese stuff...Nintendo/Sanrio/and the purchase of USJ and Genneon Entertainment makes it seem Comcast is focusing on more of those IPs.

This is what I hope they do with Nintendo in the new park. I hope they have the IPs as unique rides within the correct area instead of a massive Nintendo Land. This will also allow IPs to be used later without causing confusion of why a Nintendo IP isn't in Nintendo Land.

Just to add a few ideas.

Depending on the success of Kong's return, I'd be interested to maybe see a Universal Classics area using older IPs with updated ride systems. Jaws, BTTF.

I'm not sure what the relationship is with Universal and the Wizard of Oz but I remember there was a story about a theme park a while back that looked like it could be great. I think there has been rumours about for years as well that if Disney ever got the rights back to Marvel that Universal would change MHSI to a Wizard of Oz land with the Hulk coaster becoming the Wicked coaster.

The plan has always been to have them "separate" even if they technically were in the same "land"

Universal has rights to the wizard of Oz just not the movie likeness of the wizard of Oz. They have the rights to Wicked and The Wiz and the Emerald City (Show ordered by NBC supposed to come out this year based off Dorothy going to Oz)

Wizard of Oz is public domain. No one has the exclusive rights to it, just to versions of it.

And the Marvel-> Wicked rumor was a BS one made up by Jim Hill.

How will Mr Robot, a show aimed for older audiences, be in a land outside of a quick reference?

Nintendo and Hello Kitty are household names.

Evangelion and Attack on Titan are not.
