You could literally fill up an entire park with just Nintendo and have vastly different experiences...

Mario
Donkey Kong
Zelda
Kirby
Animal Crossing
Metroid
Star Fox

Obviously Universal won't go this far but I don't think there's a such thing as "too much Nintendo." They have tons of IPs to use.

Part of me wishes that they would keep Nintendo for the new park and had put F&F where the kid zone is at US so it's still in the Beverly Hills area of the park. ET would confuse things although that's set in California too if I remember correctly. Put the new kid zone where Disaster was.

I'm not complaining though as everything about Nintendo sounds amazing and it would be good to test the waters before extending into the other IPs it provides.

Using Mario and Donkey Kong in USF makes perfect sense. Those are pretty much the characters that started it all. Pokemon can be used in IoA as part of the Toon Lagoon redo along with SLoP and whatever else they want to use. Zelda obviously save for the third park. Although it's not a very popular series, I'd love to see Metroid at some point. But Universal should definitely focus on those big 4 first and foremost.

Hello everyone! Long time lurker and decided to make an account . I really love the new additions that are under construction. My family and I stopped going to Uni because it became boring but we'll be back when F& F opens after 6 or 7 years of not going. Universal still has a lot of holes to fill but Comcast is committed to filling them in a timely matter and I'm excited for the future . The number one thing they need are more family rides without restrictions. Not sure if this is a thread for Wish list so I won't post mine in here lol.

Why do you think Universal needs family rides without restrictions? Parks like Disney have a load of them and Universal is doing ok withouth that kind of rides. Do we need another troller park like MK?

Having recently had a child and starting to experience the parks for the first time as a parent I can understand this. Universal needs to appeal to the family as a whole, that doesn't mean they need to focus on kids but they need to have some options. They have a great mix of rides as is but so many of what most would consider kid friendly rides have height restrictions. I think this comes down to just redesigning or modifying the ride vehicles and restraints differently. All that being said I do enjoy taking our son and even though he can't ride much we always find fun things to do.

I would just hold off on going till my kids could ride mostly everything. Same goes for Disney.

Save a little money that way too.

kids under 3 are free so for me right now there is no cost. We'll have to see when we get to the 3-5 range whether it's worth the cost. It just seems kind of silly that things like E.T. (which my son was finally tall enough for last week), High in the Sky Suess Trolley, etc. have these height requirements.

I only found that out recently. My wife's family (4 adults and a 1 year old) was meant to be coming with us to Orlando this year but they pulled out recently to save up more money before going. The whole thing sounded like a bit of a nightmare so I neglected to tell them this bit of information.

Welcome to the forums. If you haven't been in the parks since around 2010 you'll be amazed at what's different. Universal Studios will be almost unrecognizable to you, except for the entrance. Diagon Alley/Gringotts/London/ HE expansion, Transformers, Tran. M&G,Despicable Me, Parade & Night Show, plus a fantastic Springfield themed area , Hello Kitty store and Sponge Bob store (if still there before Nintendo). And by the time you get there in 2017, Fallon & F&F in the Studios. Not to mention Kong, Cabana Bay, Raptor show,Spidey Update, new Hulk,Sapphire Falls & Volcano Bay, and all the changes to Citi Walk.. You're in store for a real treat.

I think if they build a monorail type system (which my belief is they will) I think it will have to include a stop at the convention center.

Not sure Harris Rosen--the unofficial "mayor of I-Drive"--is going to like a monorail directly between OCCC and high-end hotels that aren't his.

Everyone, but particularly those of you not from here, needs to remember this isn't 98 square miles of swamp land like WDW--this is a highly developed urban area. All the land Universal doesn't owned is owned by someone else--generally one of their competitors.

The flip side of that is that all 3 of his convention hotels (not including the Inn here) will essentially be serviced by a theoretical Universal monorail, possibly making them even more attractive options. You have Centre and Plaza linked with the skyways to that side of the OCCC for relatively easy access, and then Shingle Creek is right next to the new area. While Universal obviously wants their hotels to be the focus for guests, I think a new partner system with Rosen's properties being featured would do a lot to smooth over any objections he might raise.

I think if Universal keeps a fairly open approach they should be able to get a lot of support, if they try to create a completely closed system there will probably be a good amount of opposition. If they can manage to get the OCCC and the Rosen hotels behind them, I would guess they can probably get whatever they want. It also is worth considering that Universal should have a large amount of pull since this will create huge increases in tax revenue for the area as well as general excitement for the area once a new park/resort is officially announced.

They have a few out front of each park and randomly select people for scanning.

They have them at the entrances. They started doing "random selections of people" last month.....Why? Are you going to try to sneak in that Sherman tank you purchased from Army Surplus?
