No, I am concerned about the monorails and whatever solution Uni might have should they install such a transit system.

I understand. No way a Sherman will fit on a monorail.. .............Kidding aside, it's a good point to look at.

Universal could easily put the stations past their security checks. Would be more effective and also would minimize or eliminate multiple security checks for those park hopping.

They generally "randomly select" people going through to no-bag line.

Yeah seen a lot of people being selected from the bag line the last few times I've gone. Doesn't take much time though so no big deal.

If you are wearing a heavy coat or something in which they see that you may be able to hid something then internal regulations on it are to use judgement and select from what i've heard from CMs.

That makes sense, especially if the temperature is 80 to 90 degrees. :)

Speaking of family fun. We hadn't been in the Ball Factory since around our first visit (as a family around four or so years ago). With all the talk of Kid Zone leaving and a real crowded day at the park, we spent about an hour there tonight.

I had forgotten how fun that place can be for the whole family! I really can't think of anything else like it anywhere. I didn't partake any, just had fun snapping some pictures and just watching everyone have a blast...it was just nice watching parents having fun with their kids, the kids having a blast...heck, my wife even becomes a child in there.

It is a shame that it is so hidden as I doubt many know about it, but I just find it brilliant that a playground the whole family can enjoy together was created....it is so much more enjoyable than just watching your kid(s) play, to just become young again and have fun right along side them!

Outside the box thought: is there a chance Uni dedicates the WnW land or a portion of the new land to a Sports/competition complex to draw a portion of that crowd away from Disney?

A dedicated cheerleading/multi-purpose building like the new one being built at WWoS would be relatively inexpensive to build and take up minimal land.

If it was up to me Disney is welcome to keep the cheerleading groups. They are in my opinion the most anoying groups in theme parks. Because I don't visit Disney anymore I wouldn't mind them staying there.

If they can connect the hotels at that lot with the back of the convention center by raised lightrail they'll probably build convention hotels (expensive) if not they go for a low price point and use busses to connect them to the parks.

They may be annoying, but they sure bring in a lot of money, which i'm sure Uni would love to have a piece of.

I think conventioners and their family brings in at least twice because their company pays for their stay.

Do you think the suits that don't roam the parks care? They don't stop Brazilians at the door...

Wow, I just learned of yet another theming contractor in Florida. I thought I knew all of them. This one is Theme Works Inc. just outside of Gainsville. They created both the thatched roofs and the fossil panels on the sides of buildings in JP. They may well have created the Tricerotops fossil for the old encounter entrance. Top notch stuff!

It makes no sense for Uni to build a sport complex at the same time World of Sports is also expanding. It potentially would become null and void as Disney already has more world class facilities. If anything, I think Universal should pull the band crowd with a dedicated music hall for band competitions and such. That is a large money maker.
