Since Isla Sorna (lol) is big enough for more hotels, a new CityWalk, and both USF and IoA, what would replace WnW? Universal's own version of TTC? How much land is actually there? I could see a huge deluxe hotel working there. Maybe Biff's? ;)

I see a huge hotel resort also  , but I would not think it would be deluxe since it's too far from the parks and CitiWalk. The close proximity is what gives the deluxe resorts their worth. I'm thinking a huge value resort, a notch cheaper than CBBR, and maybe a bit of an entertainment district which would be more enticing to the locals due to it's location outside the Universal complex. Just my guess, of course.

I think if they build a monorail type system (which my belief is they will) I think it will have to include a stop at the convention center. I think this gives more leverage for public money and support, but also gives Uni a ton of business. I think it will need to be a public stop at WNW property too. Now whether the city requires one other public stop is really the question.

It's going to be a hotel. Remember, Universal wants 10k-15k hotel rooms. They'll have something like 7k once Sapphire and CBBR expansion are done.

Speaking of the convention center, here's a blue sky idea for you all. What if Universal got Nintendo to host their own E3 type event at the resort? Either at the OCC or at their own new convention center. They've hosted their own events before, though only in Japan.

Nintendo doesn't even go to the real E3. I doubt they'd fly an extra 7 hours to go to that.

I think the best you could hope for is a Nintendo weekend like A Celebration of Harry Potter.

I do see a lot of potential for crossover both ways with the convention business. It's a benefit for both Universal and the convention center.

You could also have the stop at the Convention Center next to the stop for the proposed light rail service from the airport to the Convention Center.

That gives you a pretty easy connection to the airport.

Obviously that would also make Universal's hotels on the land they just bought more attractive to folks attending events at the convention center.

Considering E3 itself is now only about a weekend long that would be perfect.

There's still events going on before E3 by some of the biggest companies (Oculus and EA can be kinda placed now) so there's that.

That said, I am very much for the monorail idea.

I just don't see a hotel going into the Wet n Wild land as the entrance to the hotel is too close to other restaurants and things to do.

What I do see though if they build a monorail is a transportation centre with the monorail being the the link to the parks. It will allow easy access for any of the hotels on I Drive to get into the parks. I also see the area being where the service area for the monorail would be too.

With the lake at the bottom of Wet N Wild I can see restaurants going in with maybe a show styled something similar to downtown Disney. For something a bit different they could build a peir.

I know it's been discussed that the WnW land could be used for hotels and or a parking/transportation hub. I kind of wonder though if it might make sense to just make it a service area. This would free up space around the existing resort as well as allow them to use the new property with less accounting for service space. Seems it could simplify things.

I already suggested that. One guy from the convention center said they needed more high end hotels and entertainment just a few steps from the convention center. What if universal let their elevated lightrail stop at the back of the convention center. Build a parking garage on the convention parking lot (sure the convention center gets it's share) and a walkway to their new citywalk. Convention goers could use all the universal hotels, the conventioners could expand convention space to those hotels and it's an easy walk to citywalk2.

Yeah, that property is in a skanky area and will get even worse if that carnival coaster is built. I think it would be a great place for offices and a lot to store work junk on.

Build the other 7000 rooms on site B.

(I am hoping Comcast buys that apartment development next to the new land on Uni Blvd.)

Somehow having an apartment complex adjoining their new park seems fitting. Maybe they could build a new Jaws ride right next to it.

^ yep... and since they have bought back everything else on the UOR land, I see no reason this won't happen.

I think they should follow the same concept as IOA with the different lands. Too much Nintendo is going to be too much. I expect to see more contracts for rights being thrown around all over the place by summer.
