Raptor Encounter looks to be a quality addition to JP, looking forward to seeing it evolve and cant wait to check it out for myself in July.

It is a fun attraction in a fun environment and should be deemed as such, although some of the kids in the videos may not deem it so much fun LOL, though it does go to show this "poorly designed Raptor suit" is indeed intimidating to some.

Some people would win a million on the lottery and complain hey didn't win two million

My thoughts exactly, there seriously isn't a better possible way of bringing a raptor to life other than what we have here. Enjoy this amazing experience that was added just cause. They didn't even hype this up period, just a fun surprise for fans. It's awesome end of story

I would say only if they run out of space for the demand this coming summer and if it is nicely packed every show, then probably. Otherwise...

I am going to give it some slack... people are being allowed to photograph it far to close, plus, some of the photogs are just too good at zooming in on the details with hyperclear photographs. I will reserve judgement based on the many that say it is super in person.

Tim Trackers distant video delighted me... I just wish they kept the people back 10' or so.

What really annoys me is the open fence... it kills the idea behind the rest of the theming and looks stupid stupid stupid. There was another way to do what they wanted to do and still hold the stress high.

Completely agree. They shouldn't allow people to photograph so close that they get to shot at the feet.

I can't figure the open fence either.....if they have tamed them then why does the rest of the enclosure have electric fence but gaps big enough they could easily get through?
Better if it had been made as some kind of gate at least to give a better illusion of containment.

The head seems a little of of proportion, at least viewing it on screen and then mainly when its the top of the head in view. For me that feels a little disappointing, I think though in person it comes across better and would be more forgiving about those details.

I was there today and it was thoroughly impressive. The "trainer" made the experience seem all the more authentic, and her interactions with the animal really sold it for me. It actually felt like they had a rapport. It's a whole lot of fun and I put together a video of my favorite moments.

Here's my picture taken with Lucy. I'm glad the team members take photos with your own camera as well as Photo Connect. That's really cool of them.

In addition to the Raptor Encounter I was happy to see that many new Jurassic World shirts have arrived to the park! They're available at both gift shops in Jurassic Park, as well as the main gift shop in Port of Entry. I got a blue logo one today, but plan to go back and get the artsy I-rex shirt next.

Congrats to Universal for creating the first meet and greet I ever wanted to actually wait in line for. Let me know what you think of the video and check out my blog for more pics.

Aah... yet another trainer! Still waters do run deep! :sneaky:

I am beginning to"think" that this is a work in progress. That originally held ideas and concepts are changing as we watch. Perplexing to me... but inevitably good.

If it ain't broke, never try to fix it or get "creative" with "it".

As ever, thanks Alicia!

That video was fantastic Alicia, thank you! There were some awesome movements in there which I haven't seen footage of before, and the distant shots make it look so impressive it kind of blows my mind. Shot far back from through the trees or at the back of the queue it looks incredible thrashing around and with the sound of the dino mixing in with the ambient sounds of the area. To someone just walking by on the path without knowing this is there, it must be amazing to glance over and see this!

Is this listed on the park map now?

Indeed they are, those puppets are very bulky so the longer they go the more fluent the motion and acting will be. The first day I saw it I was skeptical but with each passing day they've dramatically increased the realism. It just doesn't seem as clunky and "produced" as it did. More natural in every way. Glad I decided to wait almost 2 weeks before visiting to check out Lucy.

Each video impresses me even more than the last. I can't get over how cool this is. The sound design is amazing. I wonder how the chirps, barks and screams are synchronized with the puppeteers movements. Activated through the puppeteers movements? Tracked and memorized by the puppeteer? Impressive as hell however it's done.

You're welcome! Feel free to share the video and subscribe to my channel for more theme park stuffs! [Shamless plug]

Raptor Encounter is not yet on the Park Map. I'm thinking they're waiting to work out all the kinks and get a schedule set first. Lately they have been running continuously from 11am to 4pm (or so) with only 5 minute breaks every 20 minutes (or so) to change out performers. I actually like the changing of the raptors though, because the fences going on and off with the lights and sounds is pretty cool.

Yeah, the video is better. It's cool but doesn't live up to well-edited promos. The sounds are weird--the "barks" are barely louder than the regular breathing sounds. It also looks a lot less convincing when you watch it for more than the length of one video shot. The neck especially is weirdly rubbery and seems off from the rest of the body. I also think putting a little more effort into making the thing blink would make the head look a little less "derpy". But the most disapppinting thing to me was how out of synch the puppeteer was with the sound effects. A few times he hit right on the money but far more the timing would be off or they'd miss it completely.

BUT, I understand it's new and they'll work out the kinks and settle into a groove. I also think that watching the promo video sets unrealistic expectations--I would have been way more impressed if it was a surprise. Overall, it's a cool addition that Jurassic Park needed, but you all are overhyping it. Also, I can't help but see a ton of irony in the fact that we're praising it as a great addition and the official 2015 attraction Comcast promised us, whereas at Disney a meet and greet is a lot more popular and yet a lot more criticized. But, that's none of my business (picture of Kermit drinking tea).

EDIT: This was yesterday evening, so if any of you guys saw it today, it may very well have been a different experience
