Water? It was probably more hydrolic fluid than water towards the end.

Fun Fact, the JAWS water had to be regularly tested by the EPA because of heavy metal content

Not joking

Don't they still do that "heavy metal" testing at Hard Rock? ;)

Rewatching Shrek, I really hope for a full fledge d diagon alley level Far Far Away....

Going through the Chinese reporting it seems Valley of Peace will be exclusive to China at least how they are wording it.

Im firmly in the camp that feels Jaws or BTTF will never happen again, but I dont think its as unlikely as some feel it is. Jaws I would say is the least unlikely of the two to have its own full attraction mainly because, as others have said, the Jaws we used to have was pretty much the perfect Jaws ride. Its an IP that to do it justice would use a lot of land and im not sure it has the nostalgic feeling that say BTTF, ET or the Monsters have. The main arguments against BTTF is the whole 2015 thing and that Universal arent interested in older IPs, both are big negatives but I dont think they are the nails in the coffin that some might think.

We see all the time in attractions that back stories are created to seperate the attraction from the movie or IP, Avatars FOP is a perfect example of this where an entire story is created to do this and just uses familiarity or moments/characters to create an excellent attraction. To me, what gives BTTF a chance is the Delorean. Its the most memorable item from the movies and its a god damn time machine. You can create an attraction from that without needing anything else from the IP. The 2015 factor is easily negated by the fact that only one of the 3 films ever took you to 2015 anyway and you could base an attraction around either 1985, 1955, 1885 or even a new future if you really wanted to loosely base the attraction on timelines from the movies.

On Universal not using older IPs, fine, but nostalgia does sell. Granted Disneys animated classics arent exactly a direct comparison but if they can base E-Tickets on 80 year old movies, then nothing should be overlooked. Particularly when Universal isnt exactly rich in IPs that are adaptable to theme park attractions, especially when they have a hell of a lot of new land to fill over the next 10 to 15 years.

Conclusion: Yeah its not happening and im just playing devils advocate, but maybe its not really that unlikely.

Then I hope we get an American knock off because the Valley of Peace done right could rival Diagon Alley.

If that's the case, that would point then to Gongmen City from Panda 2; or the Hidden Panda village from Panda 3 being good choices for the IP.

Gongmen, I would argue more; just because of the ride potential that area could bring.

What about an RMC T-Rex? I know I said that it was unlikely before, but Wonder Woman and Railblazer haven't had any technical issues, and SFMM might get one next year.

I'd even be fine with the standard model. It looks like a top-ten coaster.

Translations can be weird sometimes. "Exclusive" in a translation can often just mean something opening first in the world.

Universal has a mindset with building new attractions that they hope to become nostalgic. Potter, Mummy, Hulk have all become rides that people talk about the same way they talk about Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror. Aiming towards the "new nostalgic" factor seems like the plan for the new park. IPs like Jurassic World and Nintendo will be the future's Disney cartoons and such.

Yup. Ratatouille and Tron Light Cycle Run were exclusive to their respective parks, until they weren’t.

A really cool world for the new park would be base on Irish folklore of Celtic Otherworld, I really enjoyed playing Folklore on the PS3 and they did such a fabulous job of bring their own awesome spin on it and I would love to see what universal creative do with a blank canvas to make their own unique world base on it and awesome rides they could do for it.

They can pay me 5 billion to make the new park. I’ll do it, pocket a billion, and still have more than 2 leftover.

Question, would the budget include the initial hotels, parking structure, and entertainment complex (ontop of the park)?

I doubt it'll be that much. Maybe for the entire southern complex.

Shame, as it's the perfect way to bring a bit of nostalga back - could easily include all the great old IP's like BTTF, Jaws, Kong etc.

If Ready Player One had been made earlier I could have seen it being the perfect replacement for the original BTTF ride rather than Simpsons.

USB Phase One is costing ~6 billion USD with includes citywalk, the first hotel, and the first park. So I would say this park should be 3 billion if you include citywalk and 30% original/exclusive attractions.
