USB Phase One is costing ~6 billion USD with includes citywalk, the first hotel, and the first park. So I would say this park should be 3 billion if you include citywalk and 30% original/exclusive attractions.

Comcast seems like it’s willing to spend a little money to get a good project. I think your number is right on the money.

Remember: Chinese budgets are often super over inflated because of the nature of doing business in China.

Yup. The movie and book really don’t lend themselves to a land. It’s just a bunch of look at this 80s IP mashed together. Only thing in the movie that would work is the opening race, but then that’s just a screen simulator.

Around a billion in '99, I think. Which would be about 1.5 billion now.

No idea. Don't even know if the number is legit. All I could find with a quick google. I would imagine everything was more than a billion though

So you have......
Super Nintendo World
DreamWorks Area
Fantasy Area-Fantastic Beasts
Classic Universal Monsters
That’s four worlds if called Fantastic Worlds I don’t want to include Jurassic World because we won’t know what IOA has planned for JP area other than just a roller coaster.
Just have a gut feeling that Godzilla, Star Trek & Lord of the Rings will find their way to make it into this park I think if the acres that Comcast purchased if they split it into 2 parks which is unlikely then we can see more of these IP’s transferred over to a 5th park I’m jumping the gun sorry but if Universal had the space to put 2 gates on this new property.

I thought @Brian G. shot down the possibility of Godzilla, ST, or Lord popping up for UOSouth's first phase?

Either way, UOSouth will probably work similar to how UONorth is, two parks (but not at the same time, and that can be 5-10 years after the opening of the first for the second), entertainment complex, parking, and 4-5 hotels.

Nintendo and DreamWorks seem like the most solid, with Fantastic Beasts/Potter being likely.

If they go with the 5 total, Jurassic may be a possibility; if them slowing down the possible expansion at IOA turns to a change. As for the fifth..that's the crapshoot.

I think JP at IOA is starting some construction from what I last heard on something i don’t know if anyone has any pictures to prove but construction was supposed to break ground on JP area around the triceratops encounter in June I may be wrong I have heard of nothing else other than that. We don’t know if Kidzone over at USF is safe for the future either.

All I've heard of is deconstruction over at Trike trail. Props were removed, some trees, equipment has been cleared out of the barns and I think plumbing relating to water fountains was removed. Nothing too major, but it seems to be slowly disappearing.

Oh ok we just don’t know if this is for JP expansion or a totally new roller coaster. If JP is transformed into Jurassic World eventually we won’t hear about this for awhile correct? After a new JP attraction comes it’ll still be called Jurassic Park I assume. The name change is just a small rumor if it happens at all. Fourth Gate could be more likely just keep the IOA section themed to the older JP Franchise.

Whether or not JP at IOA turns into JW is still a rumor (and may not have actually been decided yet by the people in charge,) but regardless, we should see a new attraction and a big refurb of River Adventure by the time the next Jurassic film hits theaters.

It would be kinda weird if JP/JW had three coasters (one in the new park, two in IOA), but I’d be down. Especially since neither of the IOA coasters will/are that big.

Flying Dinosaur, RMC T-Rex, or a Wing-Coaster. That’s the most likely options, imo. Maybe something similar to the SFX coaster. But that’s it.

Pardon my lack of insight regarding this, but are we certain the new park will be exclusively immersive lands? Or could we have something that's a sort of hybrid between US and IOA? I get that the parks have been heading in the direction of immersive lands, just curious if we're making an assumption there or if there's a possibility of a hybrid park.

Well, the hub could take some inspiration from USF. Otherwise, no. Everything currently rumored for the fourth park is fantasy based: SNW, DreamWorks, Fantastic Beasts, Jurassic World, Classic Monsters, etc. None of that really jibes with the grounded feel that USF has.

Take IoA's entry to the next level. Rockwork, waterfalls, pools, surrounding a covered entry themed to look like entering a short cave.

Oh, god. How did I read this wrong?

From a TPU article written last month:
“So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to let you tell me what the lands in the new park are going to be. Here’s how this is going to work. You (the readers of Theme Park University) are going to guess (if you truly know, that’s even better) what the new lands are going to be in the fourth park. If someone gets all six correct, I’ll give them credit in a follow-up article in the near future. Here are the parameters.

  1. There are four new lands that represent four brands that Universal either owns or has the rights to. You have to give me all four and be correct with all of them, not just three out of four. There is also an entrance plaza, just like with any park, but it isn’t tied to one specific IP – so that one doesn’t count.
  2. As a hint, I’ve told you exactly what one of them is in several previous articles.”
Six lands? And four of them are new? Huh.

EDIT: If this is correct, these are my guesses:

The four new lands are referring to lands currently not found around USO, which are SNW, DreamWorks, Classic Monsters, and Illumination.

The two other lands are referring to properties that already have a land on USO proper, which are Jurassic World and Potter/Fantastic Beasts.

I’m not sure if the entrance counts as one of the other two lands. If it does, Fantastic Beasts takes Illumination’s/Classic Monsters place.
