Give me that dope fog-mist-waterfall effect that used to exist on Pirates (for DJ & BB) with a projection of the Mirror's face bidding us welcome every 5-10 minutes and i am SOLD.

My point was more along the lines of questioning what somebody like Gaston has to offer a group full of magic users. He's just a guy! So for the rides, I think whatever Villain lineups are featured need to be justifiable by some kind of internal story logic, even if very loose.

The rest of land? Make it a free-for-all, sure.

For the attraction, it's easy to see how it'll be a "best of" experience with different scenes tied to each villain. Maybe Maleficent has sent out a recruiting call to gather up all the Villains to take over the realm of fantasyland... only to then battle each other for labeling themselves as the "top" villain?

The land should be more akin to the "traditional" mashed up styles of Fantasyland and Adventureland. I think Adventureland is a perfect model of smaller "sub lands" within a general theme (Colonial, Polynesian, Arabian, Spanish, etc.). Avoids the SWGE problem entirely.

The coaster could be an abandoned transport vehicle that has been turned into a tour of the caverns/hidden pathways the villains use to train/hide.

I know we disagree on this, but I'd much prefer abandoning that logic than making Chernabog the big bad of this ride. He's (I'm sorry) a very boring character.

I mean, he's not really a character at all. He's iconography. But he looks incredible, and would be an opportunity for a Kongfrontation-sized animatronic.

"Big bad" only in the most literal sense of (hopefully) being a gigantic figure. But certainly not whoever has schemed to pull all the villains to the land.

You can't honestly tell me you'd be disappointed if a 40-foot (or whatever) devil monster with bat wings appeared in here!

They kinda have an explanation they have already used in Descendants if they wanted to use it here. The villains were all banished to the land. Ignore the kids and make it so the villains are fed up and ready to break out.

If there’s some element of alternative universe shenanigans it’d be cool if some villains had won their fights with the hero and we got a peek of what that looks like. This land has potential to be something really cool if they go all-out on it.

Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Iron Man do pretty well amongst the other supernatural characters. Maybe someone else will give him some kind of magic enhancement if he drinks a potion?

The villain club doesn't discriminate from magic and non-magic or human and non-human, my guy. Disney got the catalog like we're breaking into Arkham Asylum and i am HAPPY to see them FLEX it.

Fantasmic is my favorite show at Disney and that features Claude Frollo, Captain Hook, Cruella De Vil, and Govenor Ratcliffe - All just normal peeps by this logic. And then we got Kaa, Monstro, and Scar - which are literally just aggro animals. I'm not claiming that they're cool or that there isn't a hierarchy of power being ignored - I'm just saying that I don't wanna draw those lines because i don't think Disney will. I think we're going to see a lot of them and i think they're going to think of a good way to use them.

You know the only good scene from Wreck It Ralph 2 where all the princesses get together and it finds a good way to showcase all of them individually despite their differences and it works?
Yeah, that - but VILLAINS for the ENTIRE RIDE.

And i do agree, i think the characters that DON'T WORK for the smaller more intimate dark-ride will ABSOLUTELY work and SHOULD be utilized for the rollercoaster. I'm imagining Expedition Everest but every time we turn a corner there's a new BIG, SCARY looking monster coming at us. Get on board, this is the hype train. Chernabog better be there; He's my #1 aura-farming villain.

On this, the most important matter, we agree.

I would just a like a little storytelling cohesion on the attractions.

Thank you! FINALLY the "Isle of the Lost" was referenced from Descendants..

Also point towards PattyCakeProductions Youtube channel with their Disney inspired content that is top tier & makes official Disney live-action films look even more amateur. They have an on-going (musical) series called "Villains Lair" (debuted 7 years ago), i highly recommend giving their stuff a watch. You'll also recognize some familiar faces (HHN, B&T familiar) in a few of their videos..

(^currently has a 2nd season too)

Also I always felt the parks were missing out by NOT having a real "House of Mouse" diner, complete with a "House of Villains" overlay during spooky season.

Villains can co-exist. Disney just has to get creative.

So what we all speculated, they want it to be the “biggest” ride on property which also means extra lightning lane money, merch sales, capacity, and guest satisfaction. I am so curious with what they will come up with.

Went to MK this past Saturday, and boy... that park is in a short-term mess right now lol

Park feels off at the moment with Big Thunder, Buzz and all of Frontierland virtually a construction site.

Not to mention all of Haunted Mansion's facade being fully behind scrim for at least the next few months, the castle is drained while it's being repainted, and Little Mermaid is down for refurb. It's rough rn for sure.

Kind of a weird time as a WDW passholder period. MK is a construction site. AK lost all of Dinoland USA and both the train & Conservation Station are under refurb. HS lost Muppets and is about to lose RNRC for a while. Etc. Not cancelling my pass by any means, but it's definitely feeling like a weird transitional period.

E Ticket should be preshow, then 3-4 minute omnimover deeper into whatever lair we’re going into, then second preshow where Everything Goes Wrong™, then Shanghai Pirates ride system to save the day/escape/break down and get evac’d out the side door of the building.

Definitely weird and transitional, but with most of these additions, I'm very excited to see the end result. I'll take a bit of a weird temporary lull leading into so many potentially really exciting developments and additions, compared to more 2023 / 2024-style coasting by.

For myself personally, once we see stuff like TropAm, Piston Peak, Villainsland, Monstropolis, refreshed Animation Courtyard, RNRC, Soarin', Buzz, BTMR, CoP, etc etc., on top of all the already completed EPCOT and New Frontierland work, I feel like that is enough for me to feel like WDW is finally where it should be, had they not taken that slow holding period in the 2000s.

So much of the resort feels refreshed, built for modern Disney crowds and expectations. And it only makes me potentially more excited for what they decide to do after this phase. I'm excited for the less obvious wave of expansions and renovations to these parks that will be opened up now that the obvious crop of dated Dinolands, Ellen's, and Aerosmiths have been tapped into.
