Ticketing change:

The SoCal City Pass, a ticket that would get you a 3-Day Disneyland Park Hopper, 1-Day at Sea World, and 1-Day at Universal (two days if you bought the pass at Universal) for a flat fee has seen a change.

Universal is no longer offered on the City Pass, instead it is now Legoland.

Universal needs to learn that they can play whatever game they want once Potter comes online, but now? Not so much.

I still think it's beyond stupid that they don't have a top tier annual pass available. Like, make it super expensive, but have it available...

Quick question that I don't know the answer to... I want to go to universal with some friends and I have a pass that is blocked out that day... if we want to get front of the line passes for that day how much would it be to upgrade my pass to a front of the line ticket.. would it be normal priced or would I get a discount?

you would have to buy a one day blackout ticket which would be $45 (unless they already raised it). Might be cheaper to upgrade to a no black out passAnd since you already have a ticket, a front line will be the price on the board minus the $95 ticket

Right now thats $44 each but it'll be raising soon. More likely $75 but could be higher

you pay the difference. No blackout are $169 so if you have a buy a day you just do the math. Costcos would cost more to upgrade since their tix are less than $95

Expiration dates stay the same. So to upgrade a buy a day to a NBO, it'll be until 12/31 UNLESS the seller makes a mistake and doesnt change the date lol

What's the point when the VIP pass costs more?  I have heard that some VIP tours hand out return tickets for a one day complimentary pass after your guide goes home for the day.  This may have been a one time deal, but the ticket would have no value.

The "Front of LIne" ticket packages can be upgraded to Season Passes so i would assume that VIPs ticket would be eligible as well.

I assume they just deduct the price of a 1-Day ticket from the Season Pass price, and you pay the difference. However, since Season/Annual pass holders get no discounts for VIP tickets, they may not allow you to upgrade.

I would call the park just to make sure.

Any advise on how I can get the no black out date pass cheaper??? I feel like I've been ripped off having to pay 159 for a pass that is a lesser version of the defunct star pass (which I regretably didn't renew this year and I regret it with all my heart)

I have been holding off on going to Universal for the past couple months waiting for a pass that will get me into Potter to go on sale. I would get less than 5 months if I buy a pass now. That is not a good value. The summer theme park season is over. Knotts and Six Flags are already selling passes for 2016. I was expecting Universal to have updated their passes by now, but they still haven't. Does anyone on here have an idea about when Universal will start selling the new passes?

At this rate, Potter's gonna be a separate ticket....haha

I've heard that Potter should be opening sometime in March. If that ends up being the case, I would imagine that the new passes will go on sale early next year.

The buy a day get the rest of 2015 deal is gone. In its place is a Southern California Season Pass. It is $99 at the gate or $89 if you buy online. It expires on February 11 like the other passes.

I predict we'll see a pricing scheme similar to this:

Universal Studios Hollywood One Day General Admission* ticket - $99

Universal Studios Hollywood One Day Magic Admission** Ticket - $129

Front of Line General Ticket* - $149

Front of Line Magic Ticket** $189

VIP Experience** - $350

Regular Annual Pass with 10% discounts* - $129

Regular No Black-Out Annual Pass with 12% discounts* - $189

Magic No Black-Out Annual Pass with 15% discounts, Parking until 4PM** -$249

Golden Snitch Annual Pass*** - $329

-

*Does not include guaranteed admission into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Return time tickets into land may or may not be available on select days.

**Includes admission into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

***No Black Out Dates. Includes admission into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Free all day parking, Front of the Line on Studio Tour, 15% Discounts on food & merchandise in park & citywalk, discounts for special events, free Magic guest ticket during your birthday month, free unlimited AmazingPictures downloads, & access to exclusive Golden Snitch Annual Pass member "Quidditch Tent" lounge.

That's the new structure I would see them implement.

I could see that working, but would be a bit complicated season pass wise on some days in my opinion, but I could see it.
