Very funny.......like really who said that I was obsessed with not having just 4 worlds in the park your assuming that is my obsession. Not true. Please don’t accuse me of saying this if you are. I’m not being rude it is just not what I said. Anything can happen. Like you said it’s a blue sky thread. We should just leave it at that.

I like your gusto, but IDK about this ride system because it's advantage is you're dangling with little below you. Are you thinking like each person is on a very small dragon that acts as part of the safety restraint?

Perhaps the restraint itself could be similar to FOP, just that you have a more realistic Dragon body beneath you with the head in front since it's suspended from above as opposed to mounted on a floow.

That gives more the illusion of actually riding a dragon with the screen in front and below as opposed to just the restraints in FOP with no dragon as part of it and the screen being mostly in front of you. So you could look down over the sides and beneath you as well as just looking forward.

Excuse the very crude graphical skills, but perhaps something like this, Dragon is suspended from the above and you sit on top of it kinda like the attached. Attachment to the overall system is at the seat/behind you so looking forward/down all you see are the physical dragon and domed screen in front/below.

My issue with this system is if somebody has motion sickness and is sick on the ride, it’s covering the screen.

HA! Fair point.

Perhaps the screen is porous to allow stuff like that to sluice through! ;)

If that technology existed, urinals would be far more interesting.

Well if you look at certain aspects of Volcano Bay, you should keep your expectations down slightly. There were quite a few “theming” issues with that park, especially when it opened. Of course. It’s a water park, so maybe they’ll make less mistakes.

Well I don’t agree because to me Volcano Bay is themed really good. Maybe not Disney level but definitely not your average water park. I don’t understand why people are so nit picky about that park for no reason.

I agree it's better than most waterparks.
Universal overhyped the place as a water theme park which it really isn't. Plus they did half a job with the volcano, leaving the backside 'unfinished' was a mistake IMO.

I hope there are no obviously unfinished bits in the new park.

I'm come to realize IP the biggest downfall for this park will be NBCUniversal's leadership in acquiring Park IPs and maintaining them. WB has picked up a lot of popular properties including Doctor Seuss and now Hello Kitty as well as Disney while Universal really hasn't done anything. This makes them so reliant on outside partners that in the end, hurt the theme park consumer as they cut in other places to acquire theme park rights as well as providing same IP holder other things.

Maybe there was a reason the entire Volcano wasn’t enclosed. I understand that Uni shouldn’t have sold it as 3rd gate or theme park because it is not the equivalent of a dry park.

My review of VB is that it was themed well but left a lot to be desired. It’s the uncanny valley syndrome again, the more highly themed something is, the more obvious the non themed parts are. Having said that, it’s easily my favourite water park and the rides are above anything else in the area.

Universal will have learned from their mistakes and for their first attempt, they knocked it out the park. I can’t wait to see what they do with a new water park.

The park opened too soon to meet deadline. Which was it’s biggest fault. However there are still several areas of the park that feel under developed and lacking. The lazy rivers being the biggest culprit.

Maybe I got swallowed by hype, but I was expecting MUCH more than we actually got. I mean the Volcano itself is amazing, but it’s not even enclosed. I was truly expecting more “theme park” type features like AAs or other story elements. Disney created a better “themed” waterslide just down the street.

I won’t even start with the Tapu Tapu disaster...

Anyway , my point is, just because UOR has made great Potter rides. Don’t expect the new park to reach those heights everywhere in the park. Every park has its “Dino USA”

The lazy river really hurts the park overall, but the fast river doesn't need theming as it just moves too fast

You right more effort could have been put into some of things you mentioned.

But considering it was Uni first water park I think they did alright job with some obvious missteps.

Like I stated before I’m not expecting the whole UFW to be like potterland but it isn’t wrong to ask of that. Just because Uni hasn’t always delivered doesn’t mean they won’t for this new park.

Agree 100%

Don't want to overhype but It anything this could be their 'masterpiece' after learning how to do things right (and wrong) over the past decade.

It’s just so much damn fun. This is like the non themed coaster debate.

Fun > theming

Well yeah. But most water parks are fun. This was billed as a “water theme park” ...I think it just meets that description. The slides are awesome, but they aren’t overally themed like some of the slides at TL or BB.

I think we all agree that VB isn't actually a themepark, I don't think it's foreshadowing the quality of FW.

I agree with @natespf I’m never calling this a theme park, no matter how often Universal says it.

If it was never intended to be enclosed, is it "unfinished?"
