You mean like this ride system Universal patented back in November? They could use it for HTTYD where the Dragon is carrying you from above in its claws perhaps. The big thing below is a curved screen ala FJ just that it's below you as opposed to in front of you.

My big issue with that is HTTYD is about *riding* the dragons, not being carried by them.

Anyway, here's my elevator HTTYD pitch, it's in spoilers since it has HTTYD3 spoilers in it. For those that don't want to be spoiled for the movie, basically it's 2 flat rides, 1 smaller coaster, and 1 E-ticket.

The land is set in New Berk from the end of HTTYD3. We are visiting during "Dragon Day", a celebration of the day the people of Berk freed their dragons and allowed them to return to the Hidden World so they could be safe. I imagine it as a permanent Renaissance Fair like atmosphere, with food and drink to match.

For the event, Gobber has constructed some rides to give people a sense of what it was like to ride a dragon. One is a Flying Scooters and the other is a simple spinner. He also built a roller coaster, which would be family friendly, but would feature some launches. Imagine Slinky Dog, but with Dragons. All of these rides will have the appearance of being made out of wood, giving them an interesting aesthetic.

The big E-ticket, would be Journey to the Hidden World. We'd go through the queue, which would wind through the caves of the island of New Berk. Here we'll find that the Vikings have created a shrines to the dragons and their history. Cave paintings, statues, and relics will show off parts of the HTTYD story. Along the way, we'll also notice we're not alone. Toothless's children will pop up along the queue, letting people know that the dragons have returned to the island for some reason. Eventually we'll come to a preshow room where an AA Hiccup is there. He intended to tell us his tale, but instead he is interrupted by the appearance of Toothless. The dragon warns that there is danger in the Hidden World, and he needs Hiccup's help. We're then conscripted as Dragon Riders, and head off to save the Dragons.

I realize this is probably more ambitious than what we'll end up with (I think we will get at least 2 HTTYD attractions though), but this is what I would do. Would be my most anticipated area in the park by far.

Ok, then perhaps this design patent? (or similar). Same concept as to the previous I posted but now you're in a seated position (perhaps on the back of a Dragon). Get rid of the "ring" bit in front of you and design it more like a Dragon

I actually had the same “Journey to the Hidden World” idea as you, though my concept would for that be more similar to Pirates as a Viking boat ride.

No offense but these ride systems don't really make sense for that, you're suspended from the dragon you're sitting on top of? I don't get it...

That's the one thing I want from this park. I want DisneySea/Diagon theming.

Yep there is really no excuse since Uni themselves have set the precedent with Diagon so now they have to deliver it across an entire new park. I’m confident Comcast is committed to delivering a good project so the budget should be decent sized.

"Have to" is a bit of a stretch. I think it will be a very well themed park. I also think people expecting everything to be Diagon level are probably setting themselves up for disappointment.

Don’t get me wrong I have realistic expectations versus some people on this thread but I think delivering a less than stellar project would hurt Uni in the long run.

I mean, we all have different judges on "stellar" though. People here complain about Hogwarts' visible show buildings and visible coaster track, but the majority of people aren't gonna consider those detriments to their experiences

I don't have doubts about the park's overall quality, but realistically I know this is still a Universal park, and there will more than likely be some breaks in immersion here and there

Excuse the very crude graphical skills, but perhaps something like this, Dragon is suspended from the above and you sit on top of it kinda like the attached. Attachment to the overall system is at the seat/behind you so looking forward/down all you see are the physical dragon and domed screen in front/below.

Or maybe the ride concept is you flying on a new kite/invention to help you soar with the dragons?

I think this also comes down to some suspense of disbelief. We'll never be able to ride a fully AA dragon...but I would hope they at least try their best. FOP tried with the breathing, and I think something similar would work with HTTYD

That would be a bummer.

I like your gusto, but IDK about this ride system because it's advantage is you're dangling with little below you. Are you thinking like each person is on a very small dragon that acts as part of the safety restraint?

Well if you look at certain aspects of Volcano Bay, you should keep your expectations down slightly. There were quite a few “theming” issues with that park, especially when it opened. Of course. It’s a water park, so maybe they’ll make less mistakes.

I agree with this.

I’m expecting Nintendo World to rival Galaxy’s Edge/Potter and everything else in FW to be 60-70% as good.

Maybe one of the DreamWorks lands will be 80% as good and we’ll all hail it as the park’s “hidden” gem

I mean, I’d expect Fanastic Beasts to be as strong as any other Potter product.
