It's basically the same distance as what's between MK and EPCOT.

Yes, most likely.

And I don't think it's an "if". Should be a "when". Barring a travel market collapse, there's gonna be a third park.

Will be interesting to see what the third gate gate is going to be, and how long we have to wait before it's announced.

A "Legendary Kingdoms" theme could work pretty well. Hyrule, Rivendelle, and as original concepts they could have something with the Universal Monsters (Dracula lives in a castle does he not?), Ancient Egypt (if Mummy really is in any kind of danger), Camelot, and Atlantis (Mythos could be moved here after LC goes).

If they did Legendary Kingdoms. I think they would do Hyrule, Rivendelle, Stormwall, Transylvania, and some Chinese Empire especially with 7 films being produced by Universal already are about the Middle Kingdom.

Searching google all I'm getting is something with robots. Explain? Ancient China could be very interesting. Chinese Dragons? :)

I think this would create a park that feels very "same-y". Not a lot of differentiation in tone.

I am not sure why but i see them building 2 parks here one in the near future and the other in the very distant future. building one park would be a good way to waste the land for theme park expansion

Yeah I think more is the question of what type od transportation they end up with. Will they do buses or try to get something a little better than buses. But the 3rd park will be built. The other if is when.

If they do busses I would expect them to be heavily themed on the outside. Painted or wrapped as the knight bus, hog warts express, Quinn jet, Jurassic park rover.

I don't see it being anything but buses. Monorail-type things just are not a viable option.

I just don't think there's any way Universal gets an okay to build a private monorail on I-Drive.

Hmm. I do. I think they would build a semi-public monorail that connects Universal North with Universal South, with a stop or two along the way on I-Drive/Convention Center. Anyone can get on or off.

Universal benefits by sucking up off-property tourists and depositing them into the Universal machine. Orlando benefits because it invigorates the I-Drive/Convention area and allows tourists easy transportation in the area.

Of course, the benefit to non-UO guests is minimal, but the public stops are necessary for the city to justify the approval of the build on public land. Don't forget, the City wants to keep UO happy since they are the city's biggest taxpayer... they City can bend the rules here and there if they can justify it (e.g. using city money to build the Cabana Bay pedestrian bridge). They can also position a semi-public monorail a better alternative then a non-green fleet of gas-powered busses.

I would absolutely love a monorail, but I don't think it could ever be built logistically. You can't really shut down parts of I-Drive to do construction. Business would suffer. And if it's a private construction project, I would think that Universal would have to make up the losses as compensation.

One of the advantages of monorails is the construction isn't really that inconvenient. Most can be done without closing roads.
