Gotta reassign the glasses budget to the amount of people it takes to clean those Mario visors.

*buys all the merch that has "3D" as part of the title ready to resell at double the cost*

If they can achieve the depth the 3D provides, im not opposed to the glasses removal, but still disappointing. Very much a budget saving move if true

Perhaps it's me asking as I didn't really look into it at the reskinned Supply Vault, which when I was in USH in October; I swore they made it into Production Central....

but how much Transformers merchandise does Hollywood really have nowadays?

Rumor I had heard back in the beginning of the refurb, was alongside the projector upgrades; it'd come at the removal of 3D as a core element of the attraction; to elaborate.

That is EXTREMELY disappointing. The ride needs the 3D to sell it. Only way I would sort of be okay with this is if they did a MAJOR projector upgrade to Bourne quality. That is really frustrating.

I don't think it's the LED screens Bourne has, but I believe when I had heard the rumors of the 3D removal; was that the projectors would all be getting upgraded to Christie's 8K projectors. May be mis-saying which ones; but I know Christie was named when it came to who they'd be supplying.

I mean I believe Orlando's Transformers had the 8K projectors from the beginning, which is why their presentation had so much more clarity. Hollywood finally getting that upgrade doesn't necessarily signal to me that 3D is going anywhere, especially when the ride relies on it so heavily. This is also an attraction with licensed IP, meaning Paramount would almost certainly have to clear the change.

A major part of the refurb was the elevator lifts and projector upgrades. Can’t speak to the 3D, but if they did remove it, then they’d have to redo the attraction marquee as the 3D is in the name.

Yeah if they were to get rid of the 3D, wouldn’t they have removed the big bold 3D lettering before opening this ride??

Also that’s exactly what the refurb needs. Projector upgrades were desperately needed.

Went to the park today for the first time in a while and saw that almost all Transformers merch was 50% off. I got myself a couple of items but it made me wonder if they're trying to phase out Transformers in the next couple of years. Especially with the Transformers Vault now being Production Central.

If they do replace Transformers, I hope they at least keep the ride system. It’s a good ride, but I think it would benefit by keeping the layout and ride system but focus more on practical effects.

What’s wild is that Transformers has already been at the park longer than ET Adventure was, and next year it’ll be at the park as long as Back to the Future was when it closed. I could definitely see it being “gone” by decade’s end.

If Transformers does go it will be interesting to see if they fold it into SNW for a USH exclusive attraction, or make it a standalone ride as part of a broader lower lot overhaul that includes the eventual SS 16-24 park expansion. the two floor layout means they will have to get creative if they dont reuse the existing ride system.

We'll probably get DLC for this ride where they add some GI Joe cameos and call it a day.
