Has anyone noticed that that's the only part of the ride that the projectors seem off sync and it has been like that for quite long?? The 3D effect doesn't work there, it looks blurred

I was at the park on Friday and Transformers was down for about an hour and a half. Anyone think this will become a more frequent thing?

I agree with what Jon said. It's still a very reliable ride and ride system. More reliable than lots of E Tickets at Disney, like Radiator Springs Racers and Indiana Jones, which break down every single damn day...

There are times that I've gone on the ride and certain screens' 3D effects aren't working, and everyone in the ride vehicle takes off their glasses to inspect them. Nothing too uncommon, but not that big of a deal.

I've had that happen before but it turned out to be that I got glasses that didn't have one side of the 3D filter.

As for the 3D effect not working, I always assumed the way this 3D technology worked was just like Star Tours. This Dolby 3D technology in Star Tours uses one projector, and the double eye effect is in the actual footage, as opposed to the usual two different projectors. Since Transformers uses the same 3D tech, I assumed it was also that type of 3D.

It's two projectors. Sometimes four with the gigantic, curved screens

Gotcha. I figured and sort of felt like I saw the different projectors, but I was going off of what I learned from StarTours, which uses the same 3D ttechnology. I guess you can use as many projectors as needed! :)

Just to note, the ride was down for a couple of hours yesterday early afternoon. I'm sure management cringes anytime something goes wrong on that ride.

They also extend ride hours on busier days to ensure everybody gets a chance to ride, like they did yesterday by a half-hour.

Last time I went, they extended it by 2 hrs because of the crowds and TF breaking down

It seems to be a common occurrence nowadays, so I'm not exactly surprised. You can blame the new evacuation procedures.

Yeah, it's strange that this is happening more this year than last year. I blame the procedures now.

But I don't see Transformers having a refurbishment anytime soon.

Has nothing to do with the actual reliability of the ride from what I've heard. I don't think a refurbishment would help all that much.

Now that I sit in the front of the ride vehicle every time while riding Transformers, I've noticed that some of the screens (or at least the first) seem slightly pixelated. I know that's pretty nit-picky to say, but it always sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

^ I have never gotten why that is....it's almost all of the "smaller" screens. The first screen, then the one where we see Megatron for the first time, then the one where Megatron shoots us, and then the one where Megatron attacks Optimus, they're all pixelated and don't seem true 4K for some reason. Or...something is off. But I agree, William. It's interesting. Or maybe it's because the ones I mentioned are over saturated compared to the other screens.

The scene where Megatron attacks Optimus is probably due to the fact that it's the closest the ride vehicles ever get to one of the screens.

That shouldn't be any excuse though ;) A few close up scenes are totally fine, while others arent. Again, it's supposed to be 4k! We shouldnt be seeing pixels. I know what William was talking about. Certain scenes look very pixely and over saturated.

The part that stands out to me is the first scene where you see the Allspark being stolen by Ravage - especially when he jumps on the hood of Evac. Again, to be fair, we are pretty close to the screen at that point.

Close or not, certain scenes don't seem 4K. If they were fully 4K, I doubt we'd be talking about these issues right now. Even up close, it's hard to see pixels in 4K.

Actually, this is reminding me of Spidey over in IOA. I went on it just a few months ago (after the 4K upgrade) and there are portions of the ride where you're right in front of the screen, and I didn't notice any pixelation.

Hmm...
