Found a video that overlooks the Construction walls and noticed this.  Anyone have any clue to what it is(or what it possibly will be)?

It's either Kang and Kodos or Diagon Alley. :P

I thought about this for a minute .

I think this is a planter to separate the Studio Tour Entrance/Exit from a Wizarding World auxiliary exit.

Green- Studio Tour Entrance

Red- Studio Tour Exit

Yellow- Wizarding World auxiliary exit.

Purple- themed wall to separate the auxiliary exit from the Studio Tour Entrance/Exit

Wow, this is interesting. I didn't even know they pushed these walls out even further.

The base of whatever this is they're constructing happens to be long and curved, but it's not easy to tell where exactly it leads to or stops. Hopefully someone can get a better view of this.

I can wholeheartedly say I have no idea what that is but I'm absolutely curious :)

I'm curious where you saw that. I go to purchase the premium pass right now and click on details, and it says:

Restrictions Apply:

Your first visit must be made on or before December 31, 2014.

Pass will be valid for 12 full months starting from the date of your first visit.

Where did you see the 12/31/15 date?

Gotcha! Thanks for that! I was looking at the mobile site. Maybe it wasn't updated.

I am going to say outdoor dining area for FFB.

I think the yellow line is the Studio Tour entrance and exit. This planter is separating the walkway from the restroom area. Again, I think it may become dining area or decorative.

I'd personally prefer it be Kang and Kodos ;)

I agree with Chris. I could definitely see this being some sort of decorative element for Springfield, if not just a place to sit and eat. Maybe a place to put a vehicle like Chief Wiggum's car, or some sort of statue like Jebediah Springfield?

As much as I'd love for it to be something decorative and for Springfield, I'd rather they be working on a streamlined way to split the Springfield and Studio Tour crowds coming both directions.

Looks to me like a planter.  Could possibly have water features, but doubt it.

Thanks for the heads up about this! Having the expiration/first use date out until the end of 2015 makes this pass very useful--especially with Potter coming in 2016.

I think I'm going to do the same! My pass expired 2 weeks ago, so I need to get a new one now, in order to visit the park for Grinchmas. I'll also purchase a second one--but not activate it--and keep it in a safe place until next November when I need to renew again. Then I'll whip out the pass voucher and get a new pass that will be good for most of 2016--but locked in at the current price. Good thinking! Who knows what the price increase will be next year with Potter on the horizon.

During my visits to Grinchmas the past two weekends, I noticed that the Palace Theatre Cafe was closed. I found this odd for two reasons:

  • Peak/Grinchmas crowds: why close the Cafe during the weekends with large crowds? I could understand keeping it closed on weekdays with smaller crowds when demand is lower. But during the weekends (and Grinchmas especially), the park needs all the dining options possible--especially since the Upper Lot has lost Louie's and Flintstones BBQ in recent months.
  • The park just updated the facade and signage of the Palace Theatre Cafe a few weeks ago (as seen in the Inside Universal Nov. 21 Photo Update). Now, all the signage does is to highlight a closed cafe.
Does anyone know the reason for keeping the Palace Theatre Cafe closed?

That's super annoying. My past few visits during peak times it's been closed as well, which really bothers me. Really defeats the purpose of Grab N Go, and it's lines are light years faster than the ones at the French Street "Bistro".

On a bit of a side note, palm trees have been planted in the area shown in the photo at the top of this page posted by Zero. Looks like they're adding some decor to complement Springfield.
