Think Yoshi still being a thing here is why they probably thought it was fine to repeat him for FFN this year?

Aside from that, looking forward to seeing much more of the brothers interacting.

I’m gonna give y’all a fair warning: There is a really awesome surprise in the Mario Galaxy movie that Universal decided to officially announce. If you want to be completely surprised, get off the internet like, now.

It got spoiled for me, but this will be a great movie!

Who ever is making these movies are clearly a fan of Nintendo

Like just....insane the night and day how this movie is being handled and the crap we used to get in the 90s and 2000s

Agreed

But then it will make a Billion dollars and they will argue the "marketing" helped

But yes besides Wart.....you didn't need to drop any of the fun surprised they did...the movie looks great without giving away major plot moments and cameo's

This is 100% a cameo that would've gone as hard as Andrew and Tobey in No Way Home if they had simply kept their traps shut.

We are talking about the company that showed us the return of Kraid in Metroid Dread in a trailer but also kept their traps shut when it came to Donkey Kong Bananza.

They’re very inconsistent.

Eh, I'm not sure those two are exactly the same. The success of a Metroid game is not a given, so I can understand they'd want to show off more to help market the game.

That said, I am confused behind the reasoning for today's movie reveal. It's not really going to move the needle for the general public, but it would've been an exciting surprise for hardcore Nintendo fans.

Only Metroid fans would care about Kraid being in the game. Metroid fans were mad they spoiled it. Most people outside the fanbase only really know Ridley.

Before Bananza the most recent Donkey Kong was Tropical Freeze and that didn’t fly off shelves either, even on the Switch. I’d say this is a pretty good comparison.

That is PERFECT casting. I also loved hearing we got Luis Guzman for Wart; Also great casting!

Now we just need Danny Devito for Wario and Bill Hader for Waluigi and we've hit peak. lol

I had a thought this morning. Everyone for the longest time has thought “3 parks, 3 Nintendo lands, use the top 3 franchises. Done.”

What if Mr. Surprise is Nintendo and Universal’s first experiment into seeing if they can branch out from the big 3? What if Pokémon isn’t being put into USF because that park has a much longer term plan of trying to see what Nintendo franchises they can use besides the obvious ones?

It's wishful thinking but i think Nintendo's choice to go with Sony for a live action Legend of Zelda film would remind you not to put too much stock into how they approach making movies vs. integrating things into the parks. If the Nintendo worlds in the parks mimicked the illumination movie and had Pratt voicing Mario and Black voicing Bowser and Rogen voicing DK, i think we'd be able to pick up what you're putting down; But that simply isn't the case.

I think this means we'll likely still get the DK movie, and if this and that do well, we might see *him get a movie of his own (which i would be HYPE for, as i'm sure you know from our first discussion on these forums together lol). I imagine Powell signed onto a multi-picture deal, so -if anything- it does point to an Avengers-style Smash movie more than it crosses any literal industry-spanning boundaries -at best.

It’s not just movies, it’s also merchandising. Zelda doesn’t need any proof to sell so going with Sony doesn’t really matter. If Universal sees for themselves that Mr. Surprise can sell however…

I’m really only suggesting that this is an experiment btw, nothing more. I’m also not saying they’d give Mr. Surprise a whole land.
