For those curious about the VIP Experience, I got this response from the VIP Team:

"Thank you for your interest in the VIP Experience at Universal Studios Hollywood. The VIP Experience will include access to Super Nintendo World. Not only that, it is the only ticket that will allow you Express Access to the attraction as well as immediate access to the Land with or without your Tour Guide. "

so this confirms what I heard, VIP is the only way to get Express for MK as regular express does not work.

This may be a really dumb question but I’ll ask anyways. Is the land as a whole set up to add the Yoshi attraction as a future addition? I’m asking in the sense that 10-15 years from now could they add it in?

No, SLoP is our Yoshi. I believe it even has the same layout? Our land is also designed completely differently from Japan. The entrance to the ride in Japan is our entrance to the second level where MK is

Isn't it like this for most new attractions? Hagrids and Velocicoaster still don't have express.

Granted it's a retheme, Jurassic World did have Express from the very beginning. I think so did Pets, but damn though, those other ones have been open for at least a year, right? I wonder how long it'll be before those and later Mario Kart get it.

No it's actually quite different to Yoshi's layout.
I definitely think SLOP was the superior option for USH. Yoshi adds kinetics but looks really boring. SLOP is a fantastic dark ride.

I do think the lack of a ride/attraction in Mount Beanpole is a shame. Seems such a waste.

I'd like to see a Donkey Kong expansion with some kind of flat ride to go with the coaster. One of the Mack water tea cup things could work well.

As others pointed out the last new rides did not do this at USH

this is a Orlando thing I’d like kept there this only benefits the super rich

Actually, that's a narrow viewpoint. Express, no matter how great the benefit may be, will always impact the stand-by waits. The point is to maintain the flow of the queue and minimize waits as much as possible. It's worked out pretty damn well for Orlando when they've opened new attractions.

SNW is not Pets or JW. This is going to be a big deal. Only allowing a handful of people access will not inflate the waits at all in comparison to normal access.

Will Express have to do the Timed Returns to enter the land? Hoping not, but wondering now on that.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I felt like Fastpass over at Disneyland did influence the wait times on rides and the lack of it when it reopened made queues feel somewhat smoother. Haven't gone to DL since Genie was implemented though, so I have no idea what queues are generally like over there. I just wasn't sure if it was similar enough.

In other words I had a feeling normal express access would inflate wait times at Mario Kart, since while it'd be getting Universal extra money, everyone would be getting it and then likely head straight for the ride even when their time slot comes.

Did the Potter rides have a similar thing when they first opened for that matter? Cause that land was a huge turning point for USH back then too.

I think they are not entirely sure how nuclear bad the crowding for the new land will be and are thus preparing for the absolute worst. That means limiting interruptions to the standby queue flow, as Brian has mentioned. There is a very good chance this land is Potter Orlando disastrous in terms of crowding, hence the seemingly excessive queue space and other contingencies. Once they get the situation under control and have a better idea of what's actually needed, you can expect them to introduce Express. The queue is built to include it.

We know it’ll be busy this year too because they didn’t scare anyone away with pass and ticket price increases like in 2016 when potter opened.

Now that we've seen renderings and aerial video, it's safe to say we won't be getting DK, right? There's nowhere to put an entrance for it.

Wrong. It will come, I just doubt it will be in the traditional sense where both lands are connected.

Doesn't mean anything, if they want it they will build it.

I'd be incredibly surprised if they put it separate from the main Nintendo area. Pokemon feels much more likely to happen over DK.

I think I'm once again pondering how Hollywood will bring in non-Mario IPs down the line now that Pokemon is making its Universal Parks debut as a parade in Japan.
