Well, then I'm lucky I went on January 1st and got my last ride through in

I have no ideas what it will all look like in the end...but I hope all they are doing will end up with a better park and tram.

It really sucks losing old and iconic sets, Once Upon a time in Hollywood and a few TV shows were filmed there, so its not like its been that long since the sets couldn't be used but I'm just hoping this is all worth it in the end to make a better Tram

I do need to get on the Tram now...because my god how short is it now. Like No NY sets, no F&F. I feel like without the Desperate Housewives neighborhood you could be done before 40 mins...easy

Goes to my theory that the tram will be phased out in coming years. Again, just my opinion. But as it gets shorter, there will not be a need for it.

I went to the park today

1) Lots of characters out around opening, but strangely Mario Lugio weren't meeting much or at all this morning 1:30 PM was the next time to meet them and this was at like...9:40ish AM
2) Six Points texas is being slowly worked on and buildings are being take down some piece by piece
3) Hollywood and Dine is closed right now as they take away the Grinch theming
4) The Birds and Happy Gilmore both have merch now in the main shop when you enter the park
5) The Discount store was at 70% today...some good items in there but most the FNAF stuff was in too small or large sizes for me
6) Hello Kitty has some new pink T shirt and other new merch
7) Crowds were perfect today....Tramsformers had the longest line at 45 mins when I was leaving the park around 2 PM...so really good day to be there

It’s was just number 1 in guest interactions. I don’t think it’s going anywhere hahaha

I think we forget it’s the WORLD FAMOUS STUDIO TOUR

I was going to say....I'm pretty sure the Tram and WW are the two big attractions they want every guest to see when coming to USH for the first time...

So hopefully the Tram is just having a rough patch because....rumors of the War of the World sets going as well are coming up again...so I just hope they have a plan on how they are going to make the the next Version of the tram even better

Getting rid of the Studio Tour would probably be the most hated removal in Universal history. It's THE ride at Universal Hollywood. It's never going anywhere.

Tale as old as time: Studio Tour is expensive to run and maintain and occasionally causes friction with the studio side of things. Someone feeling new and bold in management or executive leadership explores what removing the tour or transitioning it to a VIP-only offering might look like. In the process, whispers of the tour ending leak out. The feasibility study comes back saying that would be catastrophic for the park. The idea dies until the next person comes along. Rinse, repeat.

Getting rid of the Studio Tour is the easiest one-shot possible in making USH the worst park in southern California. It can’t happen and it’s hard to imagine what replacement could even validate it

No replacement could ever validate it. The Studio Tour is several different rides in one. Sure, they could build out several new rides to replace it but a core part of the parks identity would be gone.

In fact, we already know what getting rid of the Studio Tour would look like from a popularity perspective. Kingda Ka closed a year ago and people are still very angry about it. Great Adventure park attendance apparently took a nose dive.

Posting this here albeit as it feels like the only place that makes sense:

As Universal prepares Central Security Hub and the Universal City Shuttle Dropoff--redirection process is underway with the shuttle to go up and down the mountain. For the immediate moment while they work on preparing the main lot for the upcoming hotel project, and as they work on Central Security Hub, Shuttle Drop Off/Pick Up has been moved to be directly next to the front entrance of the park--right next to security.

As for hotel shuttle--as a result of the repositioning they have moved hotel shuttles to be directly next to the mountain shuttle.

I heard that Hollywood and Dine is closed until WW reopens?

Any truth to that?

Maybe one

We are getting the hotel....and they are redoing the studio

It seems like that is what they think is better for the resort

USH will basically be ok with less crowds during the year and are trying to grab people with events like Fan Fest, grinchmas and HHN

I wish we could get both new things at USH and also the resort change but for now it seems like the people making the chooses think we don't need more attractions. But I'm just trying to accept right now we won't get anything new for...like 3-4 years unless the Tour gets something really exciting for its ending or dreamworks gets something super exciting in its theater

Not even a Simpsons replacement or a Studio Tour addition or magically squeezing another ride onto the Upper Lot? (since they'll never raze those stages to the right of Transformers).

Have they heard of the DCA sweep?

Maybe the Supercharged overlay could be the 2027 addition. Just like Orlando it seems a Simpsons replacement will be for 2030.

Guys, I think they're still working on the complex, boundary-pushing ride that's supposed to open this year, along with the security hub changes and, hopefully, the hotel. Stuff's happening on the backlot, too, as we've discussed. It's not as if they aren't building anything.
