I agree that mando update is needed sooner than later.

How’s the popularity of Falcon at DHS been? Over here at DLR, hardly anyone rides it lol. Almost always a walk on/low wait.

Falcon at DHS tends to stay fairly busy but I think that is a reflection of the lack of rides at DHS instead of a mark of popularity.

If you used the Infinity Defense ride system, you could squeeze something like that in behind smugglers run on both coasts.

Any new E-ticket would help but I really do not think any attraction using a simulator/motion base (even if a vehicle moving through a show building like a Scoop or Indy) will be distinctive enough from RotR and SR or achieve the visceral thrill of a coaster. I think it would be a mistake to spend hundreds of millions on anything other than a coaster to "save" SWGE. And if they can't do a Cosmic Rewind scale coaster, I'd still take a Seven Dwafs-scale, particularly with a Jawa Droid Factory theme which does two things: highlights a key merchandise category (droids) and brings a fan-favorite Original Trilogy element (Jawas) into SWGE. (It's easily explained they live on Batuu too.)

Back on Topic, I was looking at the backstage areas for both versions of SWGE, while there doesn't appear to be room for a Cosmic Rewind esq coaster when a gravity building is factored in, you could still do a decent sized E ticket dark ride.

I know this is a SWGE discussion specifically at DHS but I did an exercise below with Disneyland's SWGE as a "worst-case" assuming they need to treat both parks equally, so if it can be made to work there and all the impacts mitigated, it allows for this to happen at DHS. My assumption being if they can't do it at space-constrained Disneyland, it's a no-go at both parks.

It is possible to squeeze the Cosmic Rewind gravity building can be fit in without taking any more backstage, as seen in these images and a review of scale using Google Earth. From what I can find, the CR gravity building is about 140 feet tall and the Cars Land rock work is about 125 feet tall, so it's possible to have a sheer cliff of rock work (also similar to what hides the Frozen show building in Fantasy Springs) to hide the structure.

It's also possible this new mountainous structure is blended out with foreground/foothills where the Fantasyland Theater is to mitigate its visual impact. I have ideas on how to handle impacts to Toontown with a new city skyline but that's getting too far afield from DHS SWGE to describe here, I'm sure this has pushed the topical boundary enough.

Overall, my point is I think a great coaster -- something akin to Cosmic Rewind -- could be an addition to both SWGE.

Love this! I do have an alternative proposal: Assuming they can relocate that facility behind them or do away with it, they could always have the gravity building go behind Falcon. The building would be a little shorter in width but longer in length to accommodate the space.

I love this! Hope we see something like it incorporated into daily operations!

Really funny that, just like Jenny Nicholson predicted, it took them until after Universal made their own walk-around animatronic Hatchlings in Isle of Berk for Disney to implement a promised SWGE feature from 2016. :nervous:

Walking around it at night, the land is legitimately remarkable. It feels sprawling, and the lighting choices and lack of complete visibility make the horizon seem almost endless. It's kind of crazy how small certain things look, like Chewie's meet and greet area next to the Falcon feels so, so far away from the main pathway. But once you walk over, that hanger area itself actually feels pretty large too. It's rather grand in that way. It feels like an actual place, and I think that is really deeply cool and impressive.

The issues with the attractions and offerings remain intensely apparent however. This place looks and feels enormous and engrossing, but the list of things I can actually do in this massive area is shockingly small. Every accessible building feels min-maxxed to encourage hyperfan spending or overplanned dining experiences, and I am simply not interested in either. On the small scale, there doesn't seem to be very much in the way of exterior world-building or detailing in the style of Harambe or Anandapur in DAK.

It feels like a beautiful video game level, that has so much budget put into the larger scenery and world, an undeniable technical marvel; but none of the doors you find around work, all the small-scale design has blurry and unreadable textures or repeated assets, and outside of a couple drab NPCs, it's largely devoid of movement or life. A great big beautiful multiplayer map, accessed through Training Mode.

Good summary, and I agree. During the first times I visited GESWL, and yes it's best in the dark, I enjoyed it a bit even
though I felt a lot was missing, namely a poor world choice ,and especially William's music and live entertainment. And I initially
liked the MF ride. But both got old real quick and I don't spend much time in the land anymore. Yes, it feels lifeless, like walking
through an old dusty museum like closed steel mills ...except riding RotR, which remains , along with Monsters, the best attractions
in all of
themeparkdom.....I've said it before. Here in Pittsburgh we have a crumbling blast furnace and some remnants of that
rusting mill. It's a Heritage site and they use it for some ethnic festivals. Every time I'm there for the Irish Festival, as it's
lit up with lights on the on the mill, I feel like I'm at GESWL. It's that close...............So, who would have thought people
would be excited by a theme park land that is almost a duplicate of a rusting steel mill. Not me.

Some things that I think would have really helped the land:
1. A greatly-expanded cantina; packing everybody into a small space, sharing tables, making people stand, requiring reservations, and imposing time limits makes Oga's more a hassle than not. They should have built a huge lounge where people can just hang out and relax.
2. Some other kind of indoor experience that isn't pay-walled like the lightsaber and droid building offerings are. Something like the Dragon's Lair at Disneyland Paris, maybe you wander into some sort of underground containment area with a big AA beast (Rancor?) in captivity.

Great summary and why I think Diagon/Hogsmeade are still unmatched. I think SWGE is more impressive visually... but it's bare. I actually want to explore each shop/building and do more things.

I think SWGE is too huge for it's own good.
