So are you allowed to leave the hotel and go do other things like explore Orlando and go off property, or do you have to stay to the schedule for the full length of stay?

If I'm paying 6K for two days of experience I'm not using the time to go explore Orlando, it's like buying tickets to a theme park and going to the beach instead of the park

Was just wondering if you needed to go out, could you? Plus, is all food included during this trip?

Yes you can leave if you must. There is a dining room and a Captain's dinner is offered, you also get a voucher to use on Batuu for food. The rest of the meals I have no idea

I'm not clowning on Fifth Element (TFE) at all. It is one of my favorite movies. It's just that the pictures we have seen have more color schemes related to TFE than SW and the singer on the video resembles the Diva more than anything else. If the SW Cruise has a group of alien warriors who have been banned invade the "ship", then we'll know that the Galactic Starcruise was actually a TFE rip-off all the way.

It’s too important to fail. They’ll do everything they can to make it work even if that means running only a few “sailings” a month

You are correct, it will never “fail” externally. But a few itineraries per month would be a massive internal fail.

Problem is, in true corporate fashion, most of the people who had a hand in pushing it have moved on to other places - most gone completely largely due to the pandemic. Others who are close to retirement are probably just going to see out the opening and then check out to collect their pensions. There will be no internal consequences except for the unlucky person who gets assigned the post mortem in 18-24 months and ends up pulling his/her hair out.

Chapek has put the flag into the ground; he wants this clones to other resorts and major cities. This is his DisneyQuest or FP+.

He’s not wrong. I mean, every experience he spoke about sounds accurate to me, BUT, I do think they will schedule events so that they overlap to help with capacity. I doubt there’ll be 200 people doing lightsaber training at the same time, so they’ll have groups do that while other groups do the bridge or whatever. Otherwise, yea.

And he makes a good point about Covid at the end. If Disney is still requiring indoor masks, the aliens are gonna look not as impressive, including singing lady.

I don't believe that they are targeting the 1%. They are targeting Star Wars fanatics who will pay anything to live a dream and they are targeting people with kids who love Star Wars. The issue for Disney is that there are only so many and, if that aren't different experiences to have, people won't go back. I see a low repeat business on this. I figure that Disney will drive demand by giving away some stays to make the hotel look full or to reduce capacity to do the same. Just as they did with Rise of the Resistance.

The question is will Star Wars fanatics be happy?

That flag was planted back in like 2018. Kinda like the flag to clone Pandora … that got unplanted.

Building Disney hotels in non-site cities has been thoroughly and repeatedly shot down by GD. The reasoning being that you never earn the same return on a capital dollar as you do when there’s an assortment of other ways to get money from people.

I'd be 100 percent more interested in a Fifth Element hotel

It's continues to be funny to me how this hotel shares more in common with other Sci-Fi properties other than Star Wars

Looks at Mando, Clone Wars, Rogue One and Bad Batch and back in the Day the Thrawn Books, Star Tours, Knights of the Old Republic, CN animated Clone Wars Series that tied into the third film, and SW Battlefront (not the EA one)

Hmmmm its like the base like's quality products made by people who love SW and aren't trying to make a quick buck

I also believe that a one-off hotel has more draw than multiple of the same across the U.S. As you said, the WDW resort has so much to offer that staying at the SW resort hotel still allows time to go to the parks afterward (assuming that you still have any money or space left on the credit card). I guess that we'll see in a year's time how things go and what the actual guest reaction (not the bloggers) is to the resort.

I think you meant to quote the guy who asked if SW diehards were ever happy.

By the time disney implements Grogu in the parks they will probably screw something up in mando that will annoy the fans. They have already waited too long in my opinion

Well, the video's sucked, the itineraries look awful but Star Wars hasn't very inviting places to build a luxury vacation destination that doesn't look drab...except maybe for Cloud City above planet Bespin. Yes we need to go to the original trilogy but that would have been the better decision from the start.

Hop on board and be a guest in Cloud City
There are clean hallways where nasty things could happen.
star-wars5-movie-screencaps.com-10404.jpg

But it also has dark secret areas like the Carbon Freeze room
episode-v-the-empire-strikes-back-1980-341.png

Look who came to dinner?!
star-wars-thanksgiving-quiz-tall.jpg

It does cost an arm (or a hand) to stay here. But it's worth it.

As the luxury rooms are a joy to stay in.

Well, the location on Scarif would have been nice until they got all trigger happy with the Death Star.
