Wouldn't that destroy the illusion of being on a starship in the vacuum of space?

Yes, but I imagine some people would like to have that view more than being 100% immersed in Star Wars LARPing and would probably be willing to pay quite a bit for it.

I had planned to list a few Star Wars porn parodies here for an adult channel but it's too late to think of any. It has got me thinking though that there will probably be people booking this hotel to fulfil some type of Star Wars fantasy.

Those concept arts make this place look really cool. I love the idea of the windows out into space, especially the one on the ceiling. Really adds to the immersion. And I'm sure there will be a way to "turn it off" when you go to bed.

Interesting, if that is indeed for the Hotel, that it's not up against the park. That's going to make getting from the Hotel into the land harder.

For all we know this could be for the parking lot for the new hotel. The new permits connect to the existing site, which is already bulldozed for construction and is much closer to SW:GE. The blog posts states that they're interested in testing to see if ground conditions on that land can even withstand construction.

Interesting that they want to move the ramp over to the right and make that a straighter thoroughfare. Not sure why they would want to do that.

that's pretty close to Osceola Parkway. I hope the spaceship hotel windows are soundproof....

I think this "hotel" will be like a ride building with a facade on one side and no windows on the other. I don't think they will have any views outside what so ever.

As I said earlier. A hotel without any windows sounds terrible to me. Looking at TV screens that act like windows, won't fix this.

This isn't a hotel though... it's a 2 day experience that involves highly immersive experiences... this isnt a place to relax and I'm sure you wont be in your room the entire day except for sleeping.

yeah, I kind of get it, it just doesn't sound appealing to me personally. Then again, I loathe Cruise Ships and Las Vegas. Which also feel like "enclosed and isolated" experiences to me. Of course, lots of people love going on cruises and being inside a giant hotel all day with non stop noise and distraction too. So maybe it's just not in my genes or something.

Yeah, I'm starting to get skeptical on this. If it was a highly themed Star Wars Hotel ran similar to most resort hotels, I'd be all in. If it's a separate attraction where you check in for two days and never leave the hotel, notsomuch. I'm not into cosplay at all. If they want to have characters running around the hotel, and shows/scenes going on to add to the experience, that's fine. But I'll never be able to suspend my belief enough to think I'm really on a starship and am a part of this world. And I think long term, theres not enough people who are to make that work. Maybe have it be a mix where they do select weekends that are like that, but if thats the whole thing, it'll be in trouble.

Well, see this is my point. I'm sure you WILL leave the hotel, and have some VIP type access to Star Wars land, but what about the rest of your vacation? Do you think these folks that are paying all this money, won't still want to visit the Magic Kingdom?

The reality is that most people are only at the hotel in the morning or at night. So all this "extra themed" stuff is only going to appeal to a certain type of niche visitor.

I'm not saying this won't be a huge success, but it won't appeal to everyone. That's for sure. It may also be a "one and done" for many people, considering the expected expense. So what happens in 10 years, when the novelty has worn off?

Every indication is you spend only 2 or 3 nights here. During which time you are immersed in Star Wars. No MK, no pool day (unless there's an indoor space pool), no dinner at Disney Springs. Then most will likely transfer to a different WDW hotel for the remainder of their trip, at which time they'll enjoy the rest of the resort.

I can see Star Wars fans going for this. It's the less enthusiastic members of their families who are going to be the issue here.

The Hotel is supposed to be a spaceship taking you to Batuu where you will have adventures along the way for the 2 or 3 days you spend immersed in the story (never leaving the Hotel) which ends when you arrive at Batuu. It is not supposed to be a normal hotel with a pool etc its a highly themed attraction essentially.
