Being older, I could never understand paying for a bottle of water that's generally no different than what comes out of the spigot. Heck, playing sports, it was customary for the whole team to drink from a hose connected to someones yard. We certainly weren't soft back then. :D

Coincidentally, talking about water: I visited Hurricane Harbor today, and every water fountain I used--even ones directly in the blazing sun--the water was ice cold (after the initial 1-2 sips). Like, I can't ever remember a time that happened there so consistently.

A small thing, perhaps, but a pretty big sign of actually trying to improve infrastructure.

I can’t remember the last time I had cold water, let alone ICE COLD water, from a drinking fountain at a theme or water park. Not even at Disney! That is huge to me!

The Batman Statue is HUGE

At least so far...what an improvement to this event looks much more real

I kinda would love them to add the Statue to the Batman Q if they ever don't need it again its very well done.

I went to the park today and was pleasantly surprised by a lot of improvements made to the coaster ops that I saw. Most? All? Coasters were operating with multiple trains, some with three or four trains, and the ride crews seemed well-trained and in good spirits. Yes, it's still early in the season, but that's been no guarantee of success in the past.

The less good: Getting into the park was a mess. Tatsu still isn't utilizing the dual station, which is a shame because the crowds certainly warranted it. Full Throttle moved at a glacial pace, though obviously that's in part thanks to the cumbersome loading process. Lots of food stands were closed — but this is a park that could really benefit from drink carts like you see at Disneyland. I just want a place to get a bottle of water/soda/beer/whatever.

The Ninja station is also in pretty dire state. It's not just that it needs new paint, it's that it needs a deep cleaning. I assume this ride is not long for this world (sad) but man, someone get a hose in there or something.

That said, the park seemed clean and Hurricane Harbor looks great. Long may it continue.

I've also noticed a lot of improvement in customer service and interactions. A whole lot more politeness, courtesy, "Have a great day" type stuff. Is it uniform everywhere? Absolutely not, there's still a fair amount of "I'm a bored teen/college student just trying to earn money over the summer". But I'd say it's about 50/50, and maybe even slightly in favor of the courtesy. Before, it was probably 10/90 (or less, haha).

And ops are improving, though there are still odd 1 train ops that appear randomly here and there. But it's certainly a lot less frequent.

That said, I'm with you that it's disappointing that now that we're in peak summer season, more food places should be open by now. They were for a hot minute, but it didn't seem to last very long. Hope they fix that soon.

And I also totally agree they need way more drink refill stations. It's crazy that in most areas, you have to stand in a slow moving food line just to get a simple refill. I feel that's the next thing they really need to address. Even other SF parks are much better about this, so there's really no excuse for SFMM.

Totally agree with this and I should have highlighted it. Had very pleasant interactions with the vast majority of employees I came in contact with, whether that be at attractions or in stores. If that’s the sign of a real change, that would be pretty wonderful.

You can now find showtimes for Heroes & Villains (and apparently all other shows and character meet and greets) in the app!

Thank you Six flags

This was my biggest feedback from last year

Fingers crossed that fright fest will also have its houses or at least shows on the app this year

Also I could not make it to the event but saw a live stream and the new stage is such an upgrade with screens on it and the big statue

Glad they are making such an effort with this event

Also Batman has a new costume and feels like it’s based on the dark knight movie costume

I agree. I just wish they made it a bit more intuitive to find. I only stumbled across it because some one else on social said it was there.

It also doesn't help that in the app, Heroes & Villains first and most predominantly comes up under the "Events" tag, but that one does not list any specific show times (instead, it's just a general description of the event). You have to go further down where it comes up again as "Show"... and even then, it doesn't seem to list anything until hit the "Show All" tab.

That said, once the event starts at 5pm, it's virtually non-stop shows of different types for the rest of the night (with maybe a 10-ish minute break between) until 9pm Finale show, so you could really make a night out of this.

UPDATE: I have a ton of pics of the event at my Bluesky account, but they also have screens showing all the performance times. It is so much better organized and presented this year. They really went all out. It's cheesy as all heck, but a lot of fun.

But on a side note, since others mentioned it, thought I'd check, and yes, the old Saw maze is behind walls. Furthermore, it appears they are beginning to tear down the facade.

Lots of interesting stuff there. I assume the B UND M PARTS refers to parts for one of the B&M coasters (Batman, Tatsu, Scream [doubt it]). Intrasys produces drive systems (LSMs, primarily) for transportation and amusement rides; they supplied the LSM for Superman: The Escape. Not sure what else at the park uses that kind of system; the only transportation ride left is the funicular which, obviously, uses cables.

Yah.. So it seems the delay is government red tape (ie permits)... Which seems pretty common these days

Went last Friday to the DC Hero's and Villains Fest

Huge improvement to the event

Still my god, find more shade please but once the sun goes down the even really is great

The opening parade is cool. they do through most the park and end at the stage do a whole show and then starts the dance party and meet and greets

Harley is kinda the star of the show, she is in the parade and first show...has two dance shows and is in the last show as well. The new Batman suit is cool.
Also I dont think this happened first week but the Flash was taking pictures with Superman and Wonder Woman and man did that put a smile on my face

Robin showed up at the ending show and did some cool stunts

Joker and Harley were great along with Catwoman. The Villain side kicks did as well as they could with the crowd and were going up to most people and kids trying to make the event as fun as they could.

We got a Joker cut out with him holding three cards you can take photos in (also art of Red hood is included as an easter egg), there is a Batman signal cut out and blackgate photo op. None of the Villain/hero's ones from last year that had Mr Freeze, clayface, Blue Beetle and Aquaman on them....which I get but also could come back and just be around for something else to take a picture with

But overall the event was great. Meet and greet lines at max got to 15 mins if that, the actors were great and the Harley dance show leads right into the final show and the final show you could feel they really tried to improve. After riding rides all day its a fun way to cool off and have a good time on a Friday/Saturday night

Via Zachary on ParkFans--the name "Cyber Cycle" is the codename of the project.
