that we allow companies to bottle and sell water to us is also, as an aside, absolutely grotesque. but, alas, these are the times we live in.

Being older, I could never understand paying for a bottle of water that's generally no different than what comes out of the spigot. Heck, playing sports, it was customary for the whole team to drink from a hose connected to someones yard. We certainly weren't soft back then. :D

Coincidentally, talking about water: I visited Hurricane Harbor today, and every water fountain I used--even ones directly in the blazing sun--the water was ice cold (after the initial 1-2 sips). Like, I can't ever remember a time that happened there so consistently.

A small thing, perhaps, but a pretty big sign of actually trying to improve infrastructure.

I can’t remember the last time I had cold water, let alone ICE COLD water, from a drinking fountain at a theme or water park. Not even at Disney! That is huge to me!

The Batman Statue is HUGE

At least so far...what an improvement to this event looks much more real

I kinda would love them to add the Statue to the Batman Q if they ever don't need it again its very well done.

I went to the park today and was pleasantly surprised by a lot of improvements made to the coaster ops that I saw. Most? All? Coasters were operating with multiple trains, some with three or four trains, and the ride crews seemed well-trained and in good spirits. Yes, it's still early in the season, but that's been no guarantee of success in the past.

The less good: Getting into the park was a mess. Tatsu still isn't utilizing the dual station, which is a shame because the crowds certainly warranted it. Full Throttle moved at a glacial pace, though obviously that's in part thanks to the cumbersome loading process. Lots of food stands were closed — but this is a park that could really benefit from drink carts like you see at Disneyland. I just want a place to get a bottle of water/soda/beer/whatever.

The Ninja station is also in pretty dire state. It's not just that it needs new paint, it's that it needs a deep cleaning. I assume this ride is not long for this world (sad) but man, someone get a hose in there or something.

That said, the park seemed clean and Hurricane Harbor looks great. Long may it continue.

I've also noticed a lot of improvement in customer service and interactions. A whole lot more politeness, courtesy, "Have a great day" type stuff. Is it uniform everywhere? Absolutely not, there's still a fair amount of "I'm a bored teen/college student just trying to earn money over the summer". But I'd say it's about 50/50, and maybe even slightly in favor of the courtesy. Before, it was probably 10/90 (or less, haha).

And ops are improving, though there are still odd 1 train ops that appear randomly here and there. But it's certainly a lot less frequent.

That said, I'm with you that it's disappointing that now that we're in peak summer season, more food places should be open by now. They were for a hot minute, but it didn't seem to last very long. Hope they fix that soon.

And I also totally agree they need way more drink refill stations. It's crazy that in most areas, you have to stand in a slow moving food line just to get a simple refill. I feel that's the next thing they really need to address. Even other SF parks are much better about this, so there's really no excuse for SFMM.

Totally agree with this and I should have highlighted it. Had very pleasant interactions with the vast majority of employees I came in contact with, whether that be at attractions or in stores. If that’s the sign of a real change, that would be pretty wonderful.
