As new structures begin to pop in for Eastside Security--the palm trees near Dodgers Clubhouse and NBC Sports Grill Brew are being fully uprooted and removed!

Updating as the past few weeks have shown notable progress. Roof paneling to cover the under portion of Central is being installed, and the under portion of roofing has been installed at Eastside. (Photo sources: Chastains in LA)1769553027011.png

The roofing for Eastside seems to be more closer to that of what is present for the likes of the Studio Tour queue area, with angled roofing on a curved approach.

Additionally, the pedestrian walkway behind the building portion of Citywalk housing the likes of Vivo, Dodgers Clubhouse, and Sephora, is now completely torn apart as they work on prep work for that area too.

From @ethanuniversal--new walls are forming over at Central with a curved wall structure now being done.

Progress is also beginning to visibly show itself over by Preferred Lot, as alongside that; Delineator Posts are also being positioned over in the lot.

From @ethanuniversal work is now being implemented on the installation of security check stands. Additionally, work is under way in the barrier separating Front Gate Parking and Citywalk Hollywood.

Additionally, beginning this week: work will be commencing on the new exit system for CityWalk Hollywood, a one way out for Jurassic Parkings multiple current entrance and exits.

I'll be going next week, so we will see how this works for now

The wording sounds like its just going to be annoying to park here on the lower floors until they are ready for the Hub to open....so hoping thats sooner then later

From @ethanuniversal, work continues as railings for Central are now being installed and kerbs are being defined with the bollards now coming up. Additionally, work seems to be ramping up in how security bubble measures will be enforced.

As me and Ethan have been talking, it actually is becoming clear for what seems to be the direction of which the bubble will be handled. And the solution that Universal has seemed to opt in on--is the matter of a two-sided separation method.

From the side of Preferred Parking, guests arriving to park onsite for Citywalk Hollywood will be forced to walk to the Central Security Hub. But in the prospect of safety, they will have pathways protected with bollards to prevent vehicle accidents to hit them. As guests walk to Central, they will not have any means of entering the park further; as it will have metallic fencing separating access from the side of Citywalk.

The method should be similar to this, and will be in place (Especially as they begin construction on the hotel by likely the end of April/May).

This whole new security system check point seems like a massive headache. How will the walk up/down hill be affected? Trek all the way to jurassic security or the future Frankenstein security? And how they'll handle the turnaround area next to Buca. Will that get walled off? RIP to that landscaping?

Still curious how they're going to fit that hotel in that space without looking like an awkward eyesore.

From what it seems, the walk up/down the hill should be the same as before if you go through Frankenstein. The only major change, at least likely on a temporary level, is a forced one way in/out method that's done on the bridge as you get to the main level. Once it is set up and finished, the WestSide Security Structure will be the main security point for what seems to be both Frankenstein Parking, and for those who take the Hilton bridge.

Shuttle from the bottom of the mountain to the top will drop you off directly at Central Security Hub. Should you wish to go back to Universal City/Studio City station, all you'll need to do is take the shuttle back down.

I imagine what they'll do for the turnaround is mainly just the steel wall divider that's being done right now over at Preferred parking, forcing people to exit through Curious George parking and then make the movement (but perhaps I am wrong and they'll do more heavy work).

Essentially it's going to work like this:

Entrance/Exit for Central: Going through the alley in-between Mr. BBQ and NBC Sports Grill Brew, with exit doors you use to get out of the bubble closer to Mr. BBQ side
Entrance for Eastside: The former IFly location
Exit for Eastside: Curious George
Entrance/Exit for Frankenstein: One way in/out. Those exiting will move closer to Pet's showbuilding before walking out in the process.

They really should've tackled this 2-3 parking garage ago haha. Citywalk/USH is not designed for this mess

I personally think this was always going to be a problem as USH was not built to be a resort--but now that Comcast is locking in, they have to make the best out of the limitations that they have. My hope, is that the new security checkstands uses scanners similar to what I just went through recently with the Space Needle. The easy walkthrough security scanners (the ones Disney tried to do before their security got uppity) was surprisingly easy and straight forward, and quick to understand.
