I would also try out the original SNES DKC games on NSO! DKC2 is a real gem of a 2D platformer, and DKC1 and 3 are also really solid! It seems like a lot of the elements from Bananza are calling back to that classic Rare era of the franchise.

Would also highly recommend the Returns and Tropical Freeze ports, really all the DKC games are fantastic.

And if rumors are true, DK64 is coming to NSO Expansion Pack very soon. It gets a lot of flack, but I highly recommend at least giving it a shot when it comes. I'll fully admit I have nostalgia bias, but it's still one of my all-time favorite games.

I 100% expect 3D Mario to headline 2026 or '27. It's gotta be soon.

It's an exciting time because a number of franchises are prepped, timing-wise, for new drops on Switch 2.

Splatoon 3 wrapped DLC development last year, and that same team works on Animal Crossing, which mostly wrapped up in 2022. We're primed for a new Animal Crossing.

I also feel like it's been long enough for the mainline Kirby, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Sports teams to have something worth showing pretty soon. Definitely hoping for a September Direct this year!

Something to consider with this is that graphical presentation wasn’t the only improvement. They also mention how moving to the Switch 2 allowed them to bring back ideas that were previously scrapped because the original Switch had a lot of trouble running them.

Soooooo, this morning I went to Walmart to pick up Donkey Kong Bananza before work at my new job at a trading card shop. My plan was to play when I got home but my boss asked me if I brought my Switch 2 to work and at first I was kind of confused until he sent me home to go get it because he wanted to see the game. I ended up playing my whole shift on the TV at work and he also gave me cash to pay for the game as a birthday present. Best shift EVER!

I only have a few fossils left to get in the first world. This game is incredibly fun.

I'm on Canyon Layer, 100%-ed Lagoon and Hilltop, this game is incredible and very addicting! Started playing at 12, took a quick break at 6, and got right back to it.

Forgot to mention this, but went ahead and bought Mario & Luigi: Brothership with Bananza, it was on sale at my GameStop. I'm a huge M&L fan (Bowser's Inside Story is one of my all-time favorite games), and I'm cautiously optimistic, heard a great many mixed thoughts on the game.
