It's official. During the time it has taken to renovate Montezooma, Universal has successfully closed two shows, tore them down, built, tested, and opened a brand new roller coaster from the ground-up....and Monty is still not open. Mind you, the thought of a major coaster coming to USH was not even a rumor nor even considered a remote possibility at the time!

Thought I would rub it in Knott's face for Universal beating Monty on being open. What a joke this whole debacle has been.

This looks nice, but finding out it's replacing Shore Break almost killed my excitement, and now I really wish it wasn't replacing it. It's gonna make Great Wolf Lodge over here as the only SoCal water park with trapdoor slides to my knowledge, and that place only has one as opposed to Soak City's four. Even so, they recently got rid of their flowrider last time I was there, which is a huge bummer.

I felt the same at first and they do need to expand & not take away stuff, but this is actually definitely a net postive for the park.

I was there on 4th of July and the park was the busiest water park ive ever seen in my life, it was insane. Not a single open chair or place to sit really. The family raft ride wait was an hour (like always) and the other 2 tube towers were both 45min waits. Yet all the body slide were walk ons.

Shore Break was dead, they only had 2 of the 4 drop slides working and yet the line was never more than 4-6 people. The other two raft slides there, are honestly lame and they only allow 1 person at a time, yet lines were only 10-15min max all day.

Adding two more big 4 person family raft slides will def help with capacity over all. Its also nice that they look good and have the modern color and fun looking desgins inside the slides.

So an upgrade in quality and capacity but still not more quantity.

I’m sure Xcellerator will be the next coaster to get the axe after Jaguar. I’ll really miss it once it bites the dust. I do think Jaguar will be next so they can let Fiesta Village rest for a long while. I do hope after Jaguar they’ll prioritize putting something in Mystery Lodge (Ahem Vekoma Madhouse) because SOMETHING needs to go in there.

I want to see S&S do the eventual Xcellerator replacement. They probably won’t knowing how unreliable they are, but what made Xcellerator great was the launch. Something like Xcellerator and Maxx Force out together would be great.

There's been rumors of Jaguar being replaced by a new family coaster for a while, and with more folks chiming in on that, it feels more certain.

I rode Jaguar recently for the first time in a long time. It's still a pretty fun family coaster. I always forget how long it is and how much of that part of the park it spans. I'm not opposed to seeing a new family ride take it's spot, but I think with some serious TLC they could really make it awesome again.

At least for me the leg room sucks, like its just not fun to be on as the car rattles around

Like I like the Q but if they keep that and give us a smoother ride, I won't complain on whats comes next

I'd be happy to have them retrack the whole thing, seriously spruce up the temple, add some theming during the ride and replace the trains... I think a controlled "spin" that really leaned into the scenic aspect of the coaster would be great. But... if they're going to do all of that, or even half of that, may as well retain the temple and build a brand-new coaster IMO.

If they were to keep it, I do think a re-track and new trains would do it a lot of good. It used to have effects that have long been broken, so I'd like to see those return too. The queue is cool, but it needs some love also.

I wouldn’t be opposed to it, but it’s looking like the Jaguar replacement will likely do all the things Jaguar does but better.

Another very important thing to consider that is probably the dealbreaker for keeping it: Jaguar has a 48 in height requirement. Thats the same requirement as Ghostrider or IncrediCoaster! I think the latter might even be lower! The Vekoma family launch can get as low as 39 inches! I think the higher thrill and greater accessibility will be the top selling point for the replacement.

Yeah, if they can put the money into it and just put something updated in and it's more accessible, that seems like a win.

In my dreams Knotts does a redo of Jaguar, same footers and basic layout but a new coaster by Vekoma, like Big Bear mountain, those trains, 39 inch height requirement, on board audio, a themed obelisk with misters for the middle of the end helix. Plus a nice Rawr sound effect when the train departs lol.

I have no inside info as to what the name of said coaster would be, but if it were up to me, I would love for the coaster to be called Chupacabra.
