Very excited for Backrooms.

Also Ready or Not 2 is a bloody good time, the John Wick 1-->2 comparisons are valid. Definitely more of an action movie than horror but still some great sinister moments and a delightfully Satanic ending.

I also can’t wait for Backrooms

I’m also curious to hear reviews for Faces of Death. Mostly, I can’t imagine it’s going to be any good, but there’s a small chance I could be surprised.

I was meh on Backrooms until that second trailer dropped yesterday. It's giving serious House of Leaves vibes, which I adore. I'm excited!!!

'Child's Play': Next Film Brings Chucky Back to Theaters; to Remain Canon!

Don Mancini revealed at Steel City Con this weekend that he is in the process of writing the next 'Child's Play' movie for theaters!
www.dreadcentral.com

Chucky is returning to theatrical in the next Don Mancini written and directed film! Work is underway now as Mancini writes a new, "Curse" like reset of the Chucky franchise--while still being canonical to the series as of yet (which means he still nuked the North Pole).

At 76, Brad Dourif is getting up there in age. I know horror franchises never stay dead, but I’d rather use this opportunity to do a proper finale.

HEART EYES:
I watched heart eyes on Netflix (finally) and,
some scenes were pretty amazing, some sequences were really great, but then other parts was really Awful. just terrible.
the first 40 minutes are really bad, really annoying. just was a terrible begining. just annoying coworkers .
the romance stuff is really annoying.
but once heart eyes shows up and starts hunting then, it gets good, becomes great
the heart eyes killer has really great presence and really awesome walk and demeanor.
I really loved every scene with heart eyes, it was so awesome.
there was a lot of humor from the two leads as well. I liked it when they were bickering. really funny.

the beginning is just so rough.
I almost quit watching it because of the annoying coworkers and boss

Some horror franchise can cycle in and out actors to play their main characters and nobody would bat an eye, but I think the Child's Play series and the Elm Street series are two franchises that just need to figure something else out or end it when BD and RE are no longer available.

(I can already hear some loser saying that they should feed all of Chucky's lines into AI so it can regurgitate dialogue for a new Child's Play movie sometime in the future.)

I think a key feature is how heavily tied those actors are to those characters. Guys like Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface are easy to swap out since those are silent roles behind a mask. With Freddy and Chucky, recasting attempts were made with popular and respected actors but it just felt off the whole time because the originals loom so large in everyone’s mind.

I still think Kevin Bacon would absolutely kill it as Freddy, should they want to continue that franchise with a newer cast.

Easier for Chucky to get replaced by a really great voice actor, honestly. Dourif is iconic, but we really just need someone who can bring the same levity AND menace to their voice the way he can. Someone like Bill Burr has very similar cadence and could come off well as an aggressive recast.

just get a voice actor that sounds the same.
it's done for videogames all the time.
I think people can understand if they just get someone that sounds the same

I feel like Jim Carrey would be a better fit. ( if he accepted)
I never seen a performance from Kevin bacon that screams "Freddy" to me
it would have to be a comedian that can play wild roles,
I would vote for Alan Tudyk, he can be funny but scary,
he was already like that in resident alien.
I wish he was Freddy.
