Two FF rides in the same park? Unlikely.

They closed down Supercharged in Universal Hollywood now that they’re getting the new FF coaster.

I suspect this will be F&F themed, but, Supercharged sucks and the company knows it. I don’t think it’s an automatic 1:1 that the coaster must be F&F themed in order to close Supercharged.

Not sure why anyone would want this ride to be anything BUT FF because that then means that atrocious Supercharged ride is gone and a new huge plot is vacant for a worthy IP.

My thoughts also. I don't care much for the F&F IP, but it is popular with the public, so I could see a minimally themed inexpensive coaster to represent the franchise and help sell merchandise. I also wonder on what the licensing contract with the automotive parts company entails and what it pays Universal. Those might be factors....But, of course, most of all, I want that terrible horrible F&F Supercharged attraction replaced with something that guests actually 'want' to ride. F&F is huge mistake, taking up a ton of space, smack dab in the middle of a park with little expansion room.

GB replacement to RRR and BTTF replacement to Supercharged, with no F&F ride at all, is what I'm guessing a majority people here are hoping for. Probably not going to happen. Between the three IPs and two attraction spots, F&F is taking one of those spots.

Surely a minimally themed coaster suits F&F more than any other IP Universal has?

Yes. Why waste a good IP, like BTTF or Ghostbusters, on a minimally themed coaster. IP is really a non matter in this situation. There's really not enough space to do a major themed coaster like Hagrids.

But not every coaster has to highly themed... I mean, just look at Hulk, or even the back half of Velocicoaster. I don't remember taking a side trip to see Hogwarts and Hogsmeade in the Jurassic World movies. And an Ecto 1 coaster racing around a city (or a Backlot) doesn't exactly need a whole lot of additional theming if the ride includes proper show scenes bookending the experience. Like, I'm not exactly sure what people are thinking the outdoor theming to the BTTF coaster (that appears to be behind the show building and themed land) in the UK park will be, but its likely to be as minimal as Dueling Dragons, Hulk or RRR but just with show scenes bookending the experience.

I don't think that's what @Mad Dog is saying, though. He's not saying ever coaster has to be highly themed, he's saying that since this coaster won't be highly themed, it makes a certain amount of sense to theme it to something like Fast & Furious rather than Back to the Future or Ghostbusters, two IP that would at least benefit from being highly themed.

They could absolutely build a lightly themed, outdoor coaster based around Back to the Future. But I do think there's some logic to using an IP like F&F for that coaster and saving these particular two IPs for something more, I'm sorry, immersive.

I mean, if you are going to make that argument though, even a F&F coaster would benefit from being more highly themed. That argument could be made with just about any property, or at least any property that lends itself to a theme park attraction; I doubt we are getting a "The Devil Wears Prada" attraction anytime soon.

I mean, sure! I'd argue much less than either of the other two IPs mentioned, which I suppose is ultimately the argument.

Yes, that's exactly what I was saying. I'd rather Ghostbusters or BTTF be used in a highly themed attraction that would make maximum use of the IP and benefit from a high theming level. F&F is more natural for a lightly themed coaster, and a coaster is actually what the mass of F&F fandom were hoping for originally when planning for Supercharged was occurring.

Ok, what would you guys say to a F&F coaster next to the Firehouse with a Ghostbusters advanced M&G in the Firehouse. And Supercharged being rethemed to something else, like Godzilla.

Just thinking out loud here.

I mean… the idea has been out there since 2018…

I am 100% convinced this needs to become a Godzilla ride. The ride belongs in San Fran, one, and two, the ride system could actually be reused with a story similar to the original Kongfrontation.

The Queue becomes an evacuation center out of the city, via bus, with the pre-show becoming the appropriate safety spiel (that keeps getting interrupted with breaking news). Effects are added to make the room "shake" at intervals. We load the bus. The practical alley is now destroyed with one of the kaiju in the distance. We take a detour through a make-shift military base in a warehouse, and get a musion scene with updates and see an escort vehicle on the riser. Now, the biggest effect change occurs, when the practical ceiling of the musion scene collapses, revealing a forced-perspective Godzilla animatronic looming over you. We now speed into the 360 room and witness the battle between Godzilla and a kaiju. The battle ends with a flash of blinding light as Godzilla unleashes his atomic breath and we arrive in the safe zone (a new practical scene where, in the distance, we see Godzilla sink back into the ocean).

If they're SMART, they add a random aspect to it, where each story features Godzilla battling a different kaiju. That kaiju is first seen in the practical city before the musion and there is a uniquely choreographed fight/ride program for each.

Kong told Godzilla to stay out his territory. And then he threw a crate of bananas at Godzilla as a warning. ;)

There it is.

It would be funny for both of those ride systems, one per park, to have one be for Kong and one for Godzilla.

I've never understood the desire for a Godzilla simulator. And I think the enormous scale of the character is almost unworkable in any format.
