Because it's in the NYC section of the park.

While I'm on team Ghostbusters here, not everything on the wall points to Ghostbusters. The phone number listed has a 213 area code... That is an area code used only in a small area of LA that includes Echo Park, where Dom's home in the F&F series is.

I looked into Gundacker and that is in reference to Charlie Gundacker who is the Sr VP of Attraction Development at Universal. The 37 years is even a fun nod to how long he has been with the company.

Side note, his Linkedin profile lists Rockit as one of the atrractions he oversaw development of. Fun full circle moment.

It’s so obvious that it’s going to be a Ghostbusters coaster.

Oh how I wish you were right.

But also, it’s incredibly not obvious. These work walls may not even have anything to do with Rockit’s replacement. Which makes all of this all the more funny to me.

Why would there need to be walls around a ride that doesn’t even close for another month?

Maybe they’re doing roadwork there… just as the signs say.

Maybe the firehouse restoration sign just means they’re going to fill in the hole after Rockit closes, restoring it to be whole.

Nothing on any signs says anything related to Ghostbusters, at all.

There’d be slime or inside jokes or logos or something. But it’s just not there.

I'm not in the loop with the rumors, but I really don't see why F&F would be anyone's first choice for the HRRR replacement. Ghostbusters fits perfectly here and would have so many great opportunities for on-ride audio, dark ride portions, and ride variations. I don't think the theme really matters because people will ride a shiny new coaster anyways, but I'd really prefer GB over a property with no ties to NY.

F&F is (technically) a stronger IP, an internal IP, and likely a cheaper experience to theme. Not a fun answer but it makes a lot of sense

I'd love a new Ghostbusters attraction, but F&F makes the most sense business wise.

Ghostbusters deserves a show/effects showcase walkthrough or a dark ride.

F&F deserves a minimally-themed, high-thrill coaster.

Trust me, I’d want ANY IP except F&F, but that’s just been the leading rumor.

For my eyes though, nothing is being hinted at for this ride officially from the company.
