Something has to change. Food Ops are at capacity, shows were mostly at or near capacity throughout the entire run this year and houses were consistently at 60+.

Whenever the idea of a new show comes up ( even since bill and Ted left) the biggest problem is
1. Where to put it without disrupting too much or without changing too much
2. What kind of show to get.
Every single year all of us speculate over a new show, but the conclusion always ends up being " there's nowhere realistic that could be used, none of the daytime stages can be used at night/ lack of team members/ disruption of daytime activities ( having to close daytime shows for hhn/ having to alter stages etc) and every year including this one, there never seems to be a realistic available space for extra shows that won't bring a nightmare to universal...
And 2, even if there was an available space, there never seems to be a good enough show to bring enough people in since magic shows don't bring in big audiences and another show like bill and Ted is impossible.
I am really hopeful for an extra show, but it literally feels like it will be impossible.

But how would that work with express pass?

@UniversalRBLX I was asking myself about it with The Pumpkin Lord’s suggestion except I was thinking of a street performer or a handful of go-go dancers on the non-zone areas (except the London facade entrances to Diagon Alley) of the park.

I really really wish they had more stages with dancers. Demon dancers, mermaids, clowns.
I it would be really awesome

I'd like to see Death Drums return, but it wouldn't be exactly how it was at 21. Beat Builders, which I'm sure was inspired by Death Drums, is literally in the perfect area and is easy to re-theme for HHN.

I've always, always hoped for death drums to be back but almost no one else seems to want it back. Death drums for me was really amazing. I loved it, but when I bring it up, it doesn't seem like anyone else has fond memories of it.

I can’t believe no one has said this, but with the huge ‘ emo ‘ resurgence this year (WWWY Fest) I can see them giving My Chemical Romance a house. It would definitely bring in people who wouldn’t originally attend HHN.

It could probably be easier to do umbrella academy. I realized that with bands, I don't know if all the members have to agree? What happens if one band member says no. Or what happens if someone in the band disagrees

I'm sure can't be done for possibly many reasons I don't know, but I would love for them to move the house entrances in the Music Plaza and use that area either for a show on the stage as there's plenty of room to draw in a large crowd, or if not, just as a rest area for people. I don't know.

I don't know if they can relocate the house entrances/queues in Music Plaza. It's tightly packed in there, and there is no other reasonable way to get to the entrances to the soundstage.

I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea how Express would work with a virtual queue system lol. I could see them re-working Express into a "Skip The Virtual Queue" ticket ( I know, quite a creative name ). Basically, you wouldn't have to join the virtual queue/get a return time, you would just get in line with everybody else who had a return time. Would it work? Probably not.

I wish Death Drums would return. Unfortunately, I never got to see it because I wasn't attending the event yet.

I actually don't hate the idea of an outdoor, chain-link "Run 1.0"-esque type experience

The obvious problem is it would come across as cheap potentially, and be a departure from their "brand" in terms of houses

I don't mind a departure every once in a while though lol

Man I love this site

Instead of talking about potential IPs/houses we could see, we're talking about how to re-route queues, where to put house portals and potential show locations

You're my kind of people

Speaking of potential houses/IP’s, we should also be talking about what food they’ll bring out for next year. There shouldn’t be any doubt on the Good Guys Burger cause that will come back next year.

I definitely expect that atrocity to be back lol

I'd be surprised if we didn't see all the Chucky items come back

We're a different kind of breed lol.

On the topic of potential IPs, is Interview With The Vampire obtainable? I'm talking about the TV series of course because the original film is owned by WB.

If we had the Walking Dead for five years constructively, then they could go with another particular TV series if the movie isn’t available right now for some reason, since it’s an AMC Networks property. They also own Shudder and Sentai Filmworks too.

You might be able to do just the movie, it’s not distributed through Disney.

That atrocity was delicious thank you very much, sir.

I've been curious whether they'll keep using that huge truss with the HHN sign on it for the foreseeable future. I like it personally and think it's such a great visual entrance statement.

It also fits well with the general "book report" zone that goes there

Yep, it's basically HHN's version of a Preview Center.

I had been interest in developing a haunted house based on Netflix show, Fate: The Winx Saga, where you will enter to Alfea and survived the Burned Ones and the Scrapers. the Fate: The Winx Saga haunted house could have been for Halloween Horror Nights 2023 at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.

However, my plan for the haunted house was cancelled when Netflix cancelled Fate: The Winx Saga after two seasons.

I am a big emo music fan but I don't see My Chemical Romance getting a house. Their imagery is not quite HHN horror. I could see them getting a creepy type zone with Welcome to the Black Parade. Their album Danger Days leans more horror in its post-apocalyptic theme but it also deals with gun violence which I feel Universal leans away from currently.

If Universal were to do a "emo" band house, I could see Fall Out Boy's "Young Blood Chronicles" It has typical horror imagery including quite a bit of gore.

I think Umbrella Academy would work very well if you include all 3 seasons. Lots of horror imagery.
"Emo" may have had a resurgence this past year but "emo", in my opinion, doesn't really equate horror.

I feel the need to ask why people who complain about all the walking want an 11th or even 12th house? That's just more walking. A lot more walking. Honestly a lot of people complaining about the walk to Bugs I genuinely think were complain because it was just more walking on top of the insanely long walks to and from the Parades which are arguably longer than Bugs.

Seriously I think some people forget that while Bugs had a long walk to the house, it had a short walk back to the park. Both Parades have a long walk to the house and a long walk back to the park.

More houses just sounds awful honestly. My feet hate me enough by the end of an HHN night as is.

I know we spoke it about it a little, but I really do wonder if we'll be getting as concise of a theme for 2023 as we did this year. While everyone I spoke to, even people who were first timers at the event, loved it, I guess it really wasn't too popular based on what people here have said.

I just loved how, theoretically, all of the zones this year felt like they could be in one 50's town during Halloween. (Horrors of Halloween at the entrance of town, Sweet Revenge in the main street, Deadly Unrest in the graveyard on the outskirts the town, Scarecrow in the farms out in the fields, and Conjure the Dark in the woods.), to the point where that kind of became my headcanon for the event. I would love for them to recreate that energy with a cool theme, but I guess it was a one time treat because of it being the 31 year.

I think it depends where A&D is heading and what concepts the market wants them to create. All the talks about 32 being a 19-esque year as a possible theme with Chucky coming back makes me wonder how they could pull it off by redoing it and making it different simultaneously. We already had Lights, Camera, Hackiton at 30, and it’d premature to bring that zone back again at least for now.
