I liked Killer Clowns....for me not a bad repeat. But I know lots of people here didn't have good runs during its second coming

Don't know what's going on with the 9th house--but I do know they are going to use UES for Fan Fest Nights as a proper experience. Could just be a moment of cold feet for sources internally on the hesitation (especially as Murdy seems to of just completeted the 7th house Treatment; which seems to be Killer Klowns?)

Sorry to be behind, what is the indication in Murdy's seventh treatment that suggests it would be KKFOS?

My hope is that this version (assuming it's in H-Lot South) has the opportunity to explore and reinstate certain things. The location is larger than either Mummy or T-Pad, so hopefully they could pull a Ghostbusters and raise the tent further upwards to bring the once planned "Knock my Block Off" and the full-size Klownzilla to the mix.

I don't count out UES for this year, but if it is present, then I suspect they might be just opting for a simple black tent.

The only thing that would make the repeat even somewhat tolerable in my eyes is if they finally do Klownzilla justice. The Yao Guai they had in Fallout last year shows they can do big puppets.

So--part of it has to do with how he talks on the treatments. Throughout the process since October--every treatment leading up to this one has been consistently above the 100 page mark; and often, the had specifically answered a question on the regards of a specific element (and sometimes he's answered multiple questions. Case in point:

Treatment 1 - 124 Pages, Original, an element he looked into was of early 80's synthwork
Treatment 2 - 136 Pages, IP (not a book report), with Murdy having to look up the meanings of Detritus\
Treatment 3 - 110 Pages, no answer on original or IP but he has had to explore new effects and the scents of specific trees
Treatment 4 - 116 pages, didn't give an answer if it was Original or IP; but he did have to note that he completely reworked the script on this (And that he researched elements on dark rings around the eyes
Treatment 5 - 106 Pages, exclusive to Hollywood and a concept he had planned for at HHN2018
Treatment 6 - 139 Pages, with the house being noted for specific window types and vehicle types that he had to research and go into

In contrast, Treatment 7 for the first time; seems to be that pivot to go back to the below 90 mark at 85 pages. And when he finally did comment on the subject of something he researched into on treatment 7, it had to do with the pleasant scents that he doesn't typically research for. Essentially, atleast from what it seems on other areas of the HHN community, like HHN365; it has led to the speculation that he might've pulled back to do a repeat of a previous house in the prospects of how low the page count is.

And while it is more speculative than hard truth; the rate of how long it took for him to respond (Which typically would be a manner of hours, took days), would make it seem like what he wrote is something that might not be worth giving as much in information ahead of the reveal.

My hope is that with Holidayz in Hell and Poltergeist showing that they can and could do changes to previous house concepts; that it enables him to add in that chance for something new to the mix. Even if it's just reinstating originally planned elements; it'd go a long way.

Personal speculation--but the fact it's been almost every treatment up until now being in the 110+ range (with the only exclusion being Treatment 5, which if I'm gonna take a crack and guess; is a Latin American concept that was considered for 2018) is highly encouraging for quality assurance. Hopefully this yields a 2024 scenario where all the houses are on equally good quality assurance to eachother (atleast from my own personal perspective) following how successful last year was.

Yes, based on your post, I was thinking something like the below, based on the most recent Spec Map:

Treatment 1 - 124 Pages, Original, an element he looked into was of early 80's synthwork Jack vs. Hollywood Harry, perhaps? I feel like synth would make sense for that, and it would make sense to start there in planning since it's a quasi-collab with Orlando.
Treatment 2 - 136 Pages, IP (not a book report), with Murdy having to look up the meanings of Detritus Could be Hellraiser or Stranger Things (detritus could be either Cenobite-related or Upside Down-related)
Treatment 3 - 110 Pages, no answer on original or IP but he has had to explore new effects and the scents of specific trees Sinners (effects for Rocky Road to Dublin, Louisiana trees, etc.)
Treatment 4 - 116 pages, didn't give an answer if it was Original or IP; but he did have to note that he completely reworked the script on this (And that he researched elements on dark rings around the eyes Lady Gaga, if that's coming, for the skeleton makeup for the danse stuff? Could also be Evil Dead Burn if that was a substitute for something.
Treatment 5 - 106 Pages, exclusive to Hollywood and a concept he had planned for at HHN2018 Latin American original
Treatment 6 - 139 Pages, with the house being noted for specific window types and vehicle types that he had to research and go into Seems like Stranger Things, or possibly Evil Dead Burn if it has a post-apocalyptic setting.
Treatment 7 - KKFOS potentially

That'd be seriously severely disappointing if KKFOS returned for a 3rd time. I LOVE the movie, but no.. we don't need an updated round 3 of the same IP. Now if it was an original sequel concept/idea, it'd be less of an issue.

Pleasant scents could still be applied for A LOT of horror themes. Xmas treats for a "Dark Christmas" house for example.

House of 1000 Corpses is still in the lead with 4 iterations. Pre-movie, 3D, & 2019 space filler.

If it does end up being KKFOS, it will certainly be a clown heavy year — Jack (& Hollywood Harry?), the Klowns, Pennywise, and Art, not to mention the opening scare zone (probably) returning.

It does make a very easy design for a poster or shirt. Jack, Pennywise, Harry & Art with the Klowns in the background makes a pretty compelling selling point.

Speculation: will we see another anime import from Universal Japan?

Could we just use ChainsawMan again (but bring Smiley the demon Halloween pumpkin character photo-op they had??? ....BUT also get a Universal budget ChainsawMan scareactor photo-op!? I've seen convention cosplayers that even had rotating blades!! Such a missed opportunity being near the chainsaw SZ... or at least give me Pochita)

But Seriously though, do we expect to see DreamWorks become our go-to anime venue for HHN (and FanFest?)

My gut makes me wonder about Demon Slayer. The wraparound theater of DreamWorks Theater feels *prime* to bring the XR films to fit within the theater (as we've seen with preview videos, they can be played flat if the need be). Being able to do a ScreenX treatment with the XR films would be a massive move, as it'd widen up options for what could be represented at DreamWorks Theater with much quicker duration times to not waste time.

Have to think USH executives are considering Demon Slayer, especially with how much Infinity Castle made last year.

See I think XR films might actually work better here for DWT, because of the shorter time; you don't need to have to worry about the sake of informing the average goe schmoe during the main show proper what X or Y does.

It's kind of why I adore Kung Fu Panda Adventure--because it knows exactly what it is while also being a fantastic showcase for the panorama screen tech they use. Having that kind of an experience for the XR films would do a lot.

I hope so but also some people hate anime…period

I keep hearing people complain about Chainsaw man and even JJK.

Unpopular opinion I know but many just want it to be something they know or heard of....but I do my homework when something I haven't see yet I watch the film or at the very least a youtube video about the IP coming to these events to have a base understanding but I went with a group last year that didn't even know what HHN was...like we got in line for FNAF and asked what are we in line for..lol

Sadly there's a lot of guests like this. Or they know what HHN is, but they have no idea what the houses are (even with signage). Then you've got the ones that only care about the rides, but complain about the waittimes & only got through 2-3 houses. Etc etc..

If we're getting Terrifier Terror Tram, I wonder if it'll be an "Ice Nine Kills" collab & just play their song "Work of Art" on repeat lol

If the "War of the Worlds" set is on it's way out in the near future, it makes me wonder about the fate of Terror Tram. How far in advance would they pull the (blood) red carpet out from under Murdy eliminating it's existence as our exclusive haunt bonus attraction. Premature speculation? Maybe. But figured I'd throw it out there.

I hope we get one last year with it as is

To me...I wish Universal would make bigger deals of things going away. I know most guests don't care but tell people these sets are leaving forever

Like 6 Points just...is gone and they didn't say a word before and its sad. These are historic sets and think the idea they have to move things over from the lower lot to the tram area is very good for but...it would be nice for a heads up

Like they talk up the Tram sooooo much and then remove sets where 100's of movies, TV shows and commercials film and think...no one cares?

Anyway, yeah these were my wives friends they got the express passes and 2 PM tickets...and like had no idea what HHN was...lol. They had a great time and think most would do it again but I just could not believe they did no research at all

KKFOS would be a lazy repeat after already having it twice. If there’s a repeat IP coming, it should be a slasher.
