I'm a bit shocked it's so early! I was fully expecting it to be that second weekend, maybe even being pushed to third considering how empty opening weekend was this year.

Universal couldn't control the weather for opening weekend of 2024. It came completely out of nowhere thus bringing small crowds.

Wow, I didn't realize that, I guess the solution is to push it earlier into Summer when it's even hotter. Guess those small crowds throughout the entire event were because of a heatwave too.

It’s one day…

And all theme parks had down attendance this year. Relax.

Even hotter than the 120 degree record heatwave we had in North Hollywood/Universal City? Opening a door to the outside world felt like you were pulling something out of an oven. It literally can’t be hotter than that any time in August, unless there’s another crazy weather event like we had this year.

Do folks think it would be materially better to come the weekend of September 12-14 from a temperature perspective, as opposed to the weekend of September 5-7? I understand that opening weekend in 2024 was a bit of a heat wave fluke, but curious if people think there is any real difference on average. All things being equal I'd like to do the 5-7 weekend, but if it's likely to be a material difference from a weather perspective, might push back. Crowds are less relevant as a consideration because I'll plan to do RIP (but any other factors that would weigh in on this, welcome). Thanks in advance.

I just wanted to come here and say that I missed when HHN used to take over NY street in the backlot. That was half the reason I would be able to convince people to go. The random parking lot isn't as spectacular as being in the backlot
