How far south does the perimeter Dragon Challenge sound barrier wall reach?

Well, this sounds like a classic Quint clue/hint to me.;).....So, I would expect the new stuff to go to that point...... My guess is the sound barrier gets replaced with lots & lots of trees (natural sight & sound barrier), namely part of the Forbidden Forest. :)

I think it was just an honest question. The sound barrier ends at the edge of DC, it doesn't even cover Hogwarts.

One thing I suspect we'll see from this project is relocation of the entertainment trailers for Hogsmeade.

I suspect they'll end up right behind the stage in what is now DC's queue area, if the stage itself doesn't move. They'll probably expand it and make it freestanding like how they have done with Diagon Alley.

It's funny, but Diagon "seems" to have more complex shows and costumes - but the types of students seen in Hogsmeade (all 4 houses, beauxbaton, durmstrang) means a LOT of costumes. Each Celestina has a dress, maybe 2 if she's full time contract, but there are TONS of the various students and they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes.

Making that its own little entity and not making entertainment run back and forth to Marvel for their costumes should fix a lot of operational kinks and downed shows.

Oh, one more example - Beauxbaton vs Banshee:

Banshee - One piece dress, stockings, shoes. Usually there's only 1 set of girls each day. So have a few of each dress size and you're mostly covered. The dresses are akin to prom dresses and fairly durable.

Beauxbaton - Dress, cape, wristlets, stockings, hat, shoes. Usually 2 sets of TriWizard kids per day. The dresses are silk and tear, rip, stain, and fall apart like it's no one's business.

I'm completely sure Quint knows where the wall ends without having to ask someone. ;)

I think UO missed their chance at an HP hotel/great hall restaraunt when they opened originally. Kinda hard to shoehorn it in now.

If they were ever gonna do it it would have had to have happened where Cabana Bay sits now. Otherwise, there's nowhere really to put it.

Actually, I was genuinely asking. :) I remembered a wall along the back of JPRA, but now realize it sits immediately against the attraction.

I am only aware of certain aspects of the coaster going on the DC plot. The stretch along Turkey Lake as well as the remainder of LC has me intrigued.

I still vote drainage. IOA's perimeter has flooding issues in heavy rain.

If this were still a viable project, the best place would be to relocate backstage buildings to offsite (not cast buildings but other admin) and build there. Build a hotel near/between the two Potter lands and have exclusive access for guests to the park via the two lands.

Well they sort of are. The manager lot in the employee lot is becoming sort of building and lots of stuff is supposed to relocate there. I don't remember what, but it's a pretty big change of stuff.

A few other thoughts:

1. How long would it take to disassemble Flight of the Hippogriff and move it deeper into the Forbidden Forest somewhere so they could use that area as additional viewing space for the new Hogwarts/Forbidden Journey light show at night, and possibly as a performance space during the day?

2. I definitely see them building a full-fledged Madam Puddifoot's, perhaps where the Dragon Challenge entrance and lockers are currently? (See area outlined in black below.) This would keep them from having to remove that wall that separates Hogsmeade from what will probably be an extended Forbidden Forest.

View attachment 5020

3. I could see the exit from the Hogwarts Express leading in two directions, either directly into Hogsmeade or into the Forbidden Forest. This wouldn't result in a broader Hogsmeade area but it would double the amount of space available to Wizarding World guests at IOA. And unlike Hogsmeade, which can be get quite hot, the Forbidden Forest would provide lots of shade.

4. Universal is not going to remove or alter Mythos, and I think the Mystic Fountain will stay, too. But Poseidon's Fury could go and no one would miss it. Maybe the Eighth Voyage of Sinbad as well, at some point? How likely is it that Universal will ask Rowling to work something resembling Mythos and the Mystic Fountain into future episodes of Fantastic Beasts, I wonder?
Keep in mind that for a Potter expansion, Poseidon's Fury is useless unless they're planning to take over the entire Lost Continent. The showbuilding is so far removed from Potter that it wouldn't make sense to use before any other part of the land.

Diagon has Knight Bus, Tales of Beedle the Bard, Celestina, and an expanded Ollivanders. As far as entertainment goes, it's a bigger operation than Hosgmeade.

But it's really not. Tales and Celestina usually have 1 cast for the day. Whereas Choir and TriWiz both have double casts on top of already having more people per show.

And just from a "having to deal with it" standpoint backstage I can assure you Diagon is a cakewalk while Hogsmeade is a panic riddled cluster to the finish line, daily.

Nope, usually two, and that's if no one has to do a partial shift for the day (which is often). Knight Bus always has at least four Conductors, more during peak. Plus the Wandkeepers and Shrunken Heads, and support personnel.

Diagon feels less hectic because it's better equipped for entertainment's needs than Hogsmeade, not because there's less activity.

Hearing boxes are being packed and readied for the inevitable move. Apparently, the temporary break space is to be somewhere behind Seuss. The completed 2019 space is allegedly a permanent structure.

What if you went into the forbidden forest with a new teacher (written by Jo) as visiting muggles and aspiring wizards. You encounter some beautiful (like Unicorns and Thestrals) and some scary animals (like the acromantula) but then you encounter a huge spectacular dragon while a horde of acromantula are in droves behind you your teacher get swept away by Centaurs. In comes Newt Scamander throwing his suitcase behind us while distracting the animals and the coaster zips backwards into the stunning world of that suitcase. We continue our journey forward through vastly different environments meeting even more amazing and fantastical creatures. We ride out of the suitcase while the room around us expands and we are in a backroom at the Hog's Head Inn welcomed by Newt. In the fireplace our teacher appears to the floo network making excuses for the rough excursion. The pub is actually another small restaurant and the Magic Neep shop.
Next to the exit is Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop where you can enjoy high tea all day and buy tea for home.

IMO Newt won't be anywhere near this ride. WWOHP exists on a sliding timeline, but that's a bit much.

Yeah, having the few years between books coexist is an acceptable addendum in the theme park environment but we're talking about a character from the 20s when you bring up Newt.

It would be amazing to see how Universal would tackle HP knowing what it knows now.

I just don't see a HP hotel happening. The hotel would have to be Hogwarts and since it already exists, they can't build two.

It would be cool to add a very small hogsmeade expansion, with a 2 story bed and breakfast style inn. I wouldn't think it had to be Hogwarts castle, but a smaller less known occupancy. You could have window projections in the windows with each room looking at Hogwarts castle lit up and the things that go on around hogsmeade at night. I'm getting way ahead of myself :D.
