They switched to even and odd sorting which defacto ends the single rider problem because you don’t end up with one spot remaining.

Ah gotcha. Gotta say, getting your standard throughput efficient enough to make your single riders line functionally obsolete is probably the best possible reason to cut something like this!

Most times that I have been to DAK recently, Everest hasn't been more than a 30 minute wait anyways. And if that's how it looks while nearby thrill ride Dinosaur is closed, then I'm willing to take them at their word that single riders is essentially pointless looking forward.

Wonder if they wanted to run a real life test of how evens/odds works there.

Maybe some lowkey operational tests are going on during this slow period ahead of an expected increase in attendance post-TropAm.

Maybe. They'll actually hve some rides in the park once Trop Am and Indy open. Its kind of just a nature conservancy now, with a dash of Pandora. ;) :D

Listening to a blogger a couple days ago and I’m curious, do people think it’s possible when tropical americas opens they would actually consider shutting down Everest to fix the yeti? The blogger said “could” which felt nothing more than a “who knows”.

While I understand they built the yeti to do exactly what I’m about to say… but having moving animatronics above guests’ heads is pretty much a non-starter now. In addition to whatever structural issues it has.

I doubt it but I couldn't say for certain. All the rumored issues point to fairly significant issues with supports that would probably require opening the "mountain". If they were to do anything, I could see them removing the current Yeti and replacing with one that has less movement and less stress on the supports. The yeti's location makes it a repair nightmare.

Plus, you fly past it and so I doubt people could see it lunging all the much.
