Makes sense for the drink around the world crowd that may be tired of kids hanging at the tequllla bar in Mexico

There’s a fire by Ratatouille, looks like the BOH area so could be a bin fire…

Glad there were no injuries and guests were evacuated safely.

A bold choice to make it 21+, but I think it's a fine addition to the park.

Not so much bold but becoming very necessary....higher number of people don't want children nor want to be around children all day long yet want to be in playful environments. This definitely will like expand.

I think it could be as simple as state rules that bars that do not serve food must be 21+, and this location doesn’t have a kitchen.

They mentioned small plates with this, but maybe if there’s no full kitchen?

Ideally, they would have relocated the poutine snack stand up there and utilize the refreshment port for festivals.

Only positive about this is that this will supposedly allow them to remove the Canada DVC Kiosk and "move" the Canada booth back there to improve guest flow.

It's pretty evident that the DVC side of the business is getting all of their budgets approved while the parks have to stretch their budgets thin.

For the past few years they've been cutting street entertainment, F&B quality has suffered a bit, and other things.
  • Operating hours for the entire resort are down
  • F&B quality has suffered (the beef utilized at Satu'li is a lower quality cut now)
  • Several attractions have started to close earlier in the day (The Seas Pavilion closes at 7PM now)
  • Some attractions have started to run at reduced capacity more often (less drivers on Kilimanjaro Safaris, etc.) , not enough tapstiles open (very recent trend), etc.
  • Poor upkeep of common park areas, not typical of WDW
Thankfully, it seems like their turning the tide on these practices though.

Evident at Epcot festivals too. Fewer new dishes, less variety, more repeated ingredients across multiple booths. I used to make a spreadsheet and hit the festivals two or three times to try everything I wanted, but Flower & Garden was basically a one and done for me this year.

Oh 100%.

Festivals have started to feel stale and quality is dropping (although there's still some decent options).

The Seas closes early currently due to ongoing construction, which they cannot do while the pavilion is open. So it’s either close it altogether and work during the day, or close early to work at night.

All that to say, it’s not a cost saving measure.

I do miss the original Satuli beef.

I think the comparison of quality and expense and embellishments of interior design (a mural, a train, custom brass filigree, gorgeous millwork...) of this DVC sales office -- which will have fairly moderate foot-traffic -- compared to the newly remodeled Emporium retail on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom (which will be packed elbow to elbow) paints a pretty clear picture who has budget to spend, and who doesn't.

Both are covered by Blog Mickey articles for those wanting to compare, but here are two photos for quick reference.
