Can anyone confirm if they finished refurbishing all 3 elevators on guardians? Wait-times have been showing like one is down still.

Even if a third park were some generic collection of IP lands cloned from other parks, it’d still be better than a shopping mall. No matter how you spin it, it’s still more rides, more entertainment, more themed experiences, more events, and more to do at Disneyland than the two existing parks can ever offer. It spreads out crowds over three gates instead of two, and it all but guarantees non-locals will spend another day at Disneyland.
Also, the economics of a mall don’t even make sense to me. Who’s the target customer? Locals in OC have plenty of malls and dining/entertainment districts to choose from already. SoCal locals outside OC aren’t going to drive 2 hours to go to a mall that’s not meaningfully different from malls and shopping districts they have at home—including some of the country’s most popular—and they’re definitely not going to waste any part of an already packed Disneyland day or weekend trip there. You can maybe make a case that some people traveling from out of state or country might take an hour or two detour after visiting the parks before moving on to the next stop on their California trip, but there’s a lot more competition for quasi-free part-day activities in Anaheim/SoCal than on the outskirts of Orlando.

Unless the name of the long game is to buy out Angel Stadium, which would provide more space for a third gate, I see the glorified shopping mall as a short-sighted decision.

The two parks had more than 25 million guests in 2024. And DCA has by no means maxed out its existing capacity, which is why they're expanding upon it so heavily. I just don't know how many more guests a year y'all think are going to be going to these parks in 10, 15 or 20 years. The United States population is going to begin declining and (my opinion) you're going to be able to rely less and less on foreign tourism.

All to say, no, I'm not excited about a shopping district. But I truly don't know how anyone can say it's a no-brainer to build a third gate here. And again, why would this be better for guests? I'd absolutely rather have the 10-15 attractions they'd put in a new gate spread around the two existing parks rather than have a third one built.

Yes, good points. ...Plus, besides the near zero population growth rate, the future demographics aren't very theme park friendly, unless they start catering to a much older guest base.......Heh, for one, bring back 'live entertainment'.

I mean Disneyland is about Locals, so I think they can fill the parks whenever they want

If they had a summer deal going, I'd be back but Disney seems to think its fine doing just the kids deal. But Disney for sure could fill a third park with APs and people wanting to come to see a third new park.

Thats why I'd want a westcot because its a event park, like if you keep having didn't events with food and live music and special meet and greets it should be getting people to come in it no problem.

Don't they already have an events park? I think you're dead wrong about their ability to get another 10 million guests through the turnstiles of a third park, but even if you assume that's true ... why would anyone want that? In what way is that better than expanding the current parks?

Who's excited that they'll start charging an even bigger premium because they've added a third park that will almost certainly be wildly under built when it opens because ... that's what they've all been in our lifetime. I just don't see a great reason for either Disney or guests to actually want a third gate. It's just a short-lived dopamine hit for enthusiasts online. I'm good!

You don't want the 5 years of fun of guessing what they'll do, what the permits mean, why this or that will or won't work, etc. followed by the opening year of everyone visiting and providing their opinions, and then the following year of posts of why the park needs more to do in it?

Plus hotels are maxed out. No good tacking on a third day to people’s vacations when you don’t really have rooms to put them in.

Halloween Time at Disneyland

The only big changes I see is the Parade won't be back for Oggie Booguie Bash

So they are going to have two moments that happen through out the night

1) At select times throughout the evening, Ichabod Crane hurries through California Adventure evading the sinister specter of the Headless Horseman astride his dark steed.

2) “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” will bring familiar and iconic moments from the Haunted Mansion to the streets of California Adventure. The new street party will feature multiple show-stopping moments for Madame Leota to host her spirited séance and swinging wake filled with happy haunts, ghostly dancing, and ghoulish delight, inviting you to partake in a ghastly good time that beckons all 999 ghosts.

This is both cool but also the parade is gone (for construction reasons)
I just still don't get how most people outside of influencers go to this event its 200 bucks and basically the same event every year when for 200 bucks i can get an HHN season pass and enjoy a mostly new event

I mean, you would build a new hotel with the third park

Another hotel connected directly to the parks would be a huge win

Also great for the people who can afford Disneyland hotels and besides when I was a kid once, I've been going for 36 years and the hotels/motels nearby are perfect to get into the parks and in the area where this park could go there are plenty of hotels in that area
