So based on recent permits filed it looks like the the Toy Story lot will become some sort of Disney Springs type shopping district. While it is a bit disappointing for those hoping to see a third gate at DLR, WDWMagic user Disney Irish thinks the endgame might be to level DTD for theme park expansion

I’m surprised considering how much redevelopment they’ve done at DTD recently. I wonder if this was not an option before or what changed that leads to this being the direction they’re moving in.

I remember those rumors as well and am still not certain why they didn’t buy it the multiple times they could have.
