It's worth pointing out that people have been saying this for the last 6 years straight since Ghostbusters came the first time, and then again when Beetlejuice was in discussion, and then again with The Weeknd, etc etc you know what I'm saying.
The event is gonna be fine. Are you gonna have to put up with there being less straightforward gore/jumpscare horror at the event? Yes. That's inevitable, Murdy himself said they're actively trying to push the boundaries of what kind of properties they can do at the event. That doesn't mean the straightforward stuff is going anywhere, we have Terrifier this year, Monstruos has had kids and babies getting eaten every single year, the same gore and slasher stuff the event has had since its inception is still alive and well and isn't losing ground.
Especially when it's anime/manga stuff that directly dips into horror, I don't see what the problem is, I don't like The Purge but I've had to live with it for 12 years now lol.
