and....this is where the portal entrances having the ability to be closed, allow for greater Epic flexibility.

I believe the whole "Putting the park back in theme park" goal is noble, in theory. The spaces that have been built within Celestial Park are beautiful and begging to be utilized.

It's an unfortunate fact however, that as average temperatures keep rising and record heats keep being set, that the kind's of parks that existed back 50-100 years ago; the exact kind that Epic is built to pay homage to; are not sustainable. Especially not in Central Florida. These beautiful spaces are empty. The few that are used are mostly utilized because of their shade structures. Unfortunately, most don't provide enough.

It may not get much hype or attention here, but the Astronomica Splash Pad is one of the best elements of the park. A gigantic play-water feature that gives countless little ones a place to run around and enjoy themselves that doesn't exist anywhere outside of Berk, as well as keeping guests of any age cool if they choose. The fountain shows throughout the day offer a nice misting if you walk by them at the right times too, which is nice!

This area thrives at night. All of the heat and sun-related issues are gone, and the lighting package is truly incredible. It's a great decision to have Celestial close later than everything else. Perhaps it's ironic that the Helios Grand Hotel looks it's absolute best when the sun goes away. A breathtaking, monarchic feature that perfectly sets the identity of the entire park.

I stand by my original consensus. As it currently exists, and especially without any meaningful original entertainment offerings, Celestial Park offers guests the experience of adding 10 minutes of walking across bright, unshaded concrete every time they want to try to ride something in a different land, for the majority of your Epic Universe day. A larger-than-life, beautiful, grueling, mandatory expanse.

If I was looking to put the park back in theme park I’d look no further than Central Park, probably the most famous park in the world. All those trees and shaded pathways.

Celestial Park may have benefited from having a small section built similarly to Carkitt Market. The shop areas near the entrance are already set up like that, they just needed to be wider and have more seating areas and it would've worked.

Towards Helios they could've extended the roof of one of the bars over the walkway and cover it with a metal structure similar to the entrance of Stardust Racers with the vining plants. It could have made a huge difference in the complaints about heat and shade.

The Bio viewpoint is the only way to fully grasp the show that is being put on. It looks great from the ground (per the video as I haven't been there yet) but the view from above really shows the sequencing of the lights as they move from one to the other. Universal has done such a good job with Epic.

Is it safe to say the best view for this show was intended to be staying at Helios as a huge upcharge?

Maybe I'm just an idiot but although the view of the show from our Helios room was fantastic, the audio was way too muffled by the windows to be a great experience. I checked a couple of TV channels and didn't hear it playing. But maybe there's something I didn't realize. Vs something like Miracosta in TDS where I could just open up a window and hear the show.
