Im reading that as a standard response to the question. Usually when they respond to a direct question they’re upfront and honest.

Ah yes, just a normal guest relations response to a known park news outlet.

Why Disney, like DEAR God why? It's like they don't want people riding their newest rides

Universal is having a fun day at the office with dry humor. Jonah Jamieson would be proud.

The reality is there is just no space to handle a line for this. Also expect Virtual for the E ticket when it gets built.

New Disney Patent Details Dynamic Virtual Queues That Could Replace Lengthy Standby Lines - WDW News Today

Disney's dynamic virtual queue management system could eliminate lengthy attraction standby lines in the future.

If implemented on a large scale, that would be absolutely disastrous for crowd control.

If nobody's in queues, which in some cases are designed to hold thousands of people, where does Disney think everybody's going to be?

Loitering around in walkways, that's where. Shops and restaurants couldn't hold all the people who would be displaced out of queues.

I think what they are experimenting with Indiana Jones at Disneyland is a good analog to what can happen in the future. There will still be standby for things but as it gets busy the switch to virtual. Some lines like Pirates may never need it but Peter Pan will. I can see if managed properly it is basically the fast pass system they had for dineyland but for stanby and thus getting rid of Fast Passes which everyone loves until they can’t get them.

Getting boarding passes for Rise at 7 AM was a breeze. Now’s not the time to park hop at DLR, anyway. Whereas with Maxpass I was always able to do both parks in 1 day, now it took 2 full days at each park to see everything. DCA in particular is a mess in the morning right now and I can’t imagine this will help.

I don't hate the idea of the virtual queue for this ride, but my trip in June is becoming increasingly more complicated haha.

VQ was always going to be a necessity for Spider-Man while indoor queuing is not allowed, there is not much space for a big outdoor queue.

However, I expected it to be more in lines with the rolling Indiana Jones VQ, not the RotR VQ.

I assume this will only be in place like this until demand is lower, and indoor queuing is allowed.

TBH, I probably wouldn't have purchased a ticket if I knew it'd be virtual queue. I figured there was a possibility, but also figured that'd be something they'd announce with the opening date announcement since that was so close to now. That's something I'm fine with as an APer, but definitely not as a one-time paying customer. I always thought it sucked anyone paying for one day missed out. Granted, DCA will be my starting park so I'll have two chances, but I'd much rather have CMs at the line give people a "come back at this time" card instead so the line doesn't balloon up. First come, first served is always appropriate and fair. Is there potential for a cluster during the mad dash to score a "come back" card? Sure, but random lottery system is not the way to go with your brand new ride.

I agree with this. I think there has to be some elbow room for error. When I was at WDW last summer, I missed out on my group getting a Rise Pass at DHS because me and another person bought our tickets separate from the other two people in our party. We tried before the boarding pass time to get our Disney tickets connected with one party so we could all go on, but alas, they weren’t able to. Even for the second slot at noon, they couldn’t help us put the tickets together for the same party. All of this was because of some technical that I have a hard time seeing why it’s too complicated to fix. While not devastating as I was able to have a second go at it for the trip (I actually got to go on it once on the trip!), it was annoying. At least worst comes to worst, I can experience Rise back at home.

I feel like in situations like this that I was in, we should at least be put in a backup boarding group if we can show that we’ve done everything “right” and can have some chance at riding. The boarding pass situation sucks when, no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to get my ticket/pass scanned into party I want. I ALWAYS have issues with it. It’s frustrating when I find this issue to be a consistent issue yet Disney seems too arrogant to allow any leeway on this. I hate it. Here I am going to be at DCA for one day and I don’t feel Like paying full price for another chance at riding Spidey.

To further my sentiment of not buying if I knew it'd be a virtual queue, there should be some type of morality here that this type of thing needs to be announced before tickets go on sale for the dates the ride is open. Obviously, they can do whatever they want and it says right on the ticket and on the website that things are subject to change, and you're at their every whim, but it's just bad business practice. I would understand if I bought a ticket, arrived, and it was broken down. Things like that happen, everyone is unlucky that day. But it's weird to think if I miss out, it's just "well, you and select other people weren't lucky today, sorry, no ride for you because you missed the one-second window tickets were open, and even then it's a lottery."

At 30 Percent? Half the park is going to want Spiderman?

I like V Q's its the fact people can't get on this is what bugs me. SLOP works because ANYONE can ride it but they are basically saying its like ROTR and you may not get to ride it and I hate that. I'm paying full price for a park with no shows and they can't do a first come first serve? To me I'm just tried of Disney being unable to get people on rides, sell less tickets then

They should keep DCA open for 60 hours like the did when Star Tours opened.

SLOP works because ANYONE can ride it

Yeah that is not true. Virtual passes for SLOP were gone by 2:00 on busy days and that is with reduced capacity. I saw many people turned away because they didn’t have a VQ.

Sorry if this is off topic but I hear CM's are wiped out as is they are getting lots of hours because Disney is being safe on how many people they hire (hard to blame them after the last year) so I would love this if the Cm's didn't suffer
