Hahah I mean I'm with you on this too as it's a change that doesn't make sense logistically for the event. But would help spread out some of the crowds

Well, no one's saying "what they heard," so it's hard to really dig into what's being talked about. But there is no ride that is currently shuttered during HHN that would move the needle if it were open. There are certainly rides currently in the lineup that, if closed, would harm crowd control (Mummy, Gringotts, Rockit).

That’s more than a no; a lot of tourists will head back to Universal once EU opens and include HHN, but that’s usually for one night only. For those go there regularly or much as possible wants a good balance of success in terms of ticket sales and accessibility.

That's not how it works. Same people going to USF/IOA, are not the same going to HHN.

FYI, I don't think Uni will open Velocicoaster during HHN - I don't even want to think about walking from the parade building all the way to JP.

I mean that's exactly my thoughts. This was the first time I heard this rumor outside my circle. And while it's a ridiculous idea, it is absolutely possible to do, though not easy.

2005 was the main one because it was easier to open Mummy, Neutron, Twister & Shrek due to their close proximity to the Soundstages. And even then, that was a "Peak Night Only" gimmick which included Rat Run in The Boneyard ("plaza").

However with the event back in the Studios in 2006, you had Seuss & Lost Continent as the neighbors, but Universal went for that "logistical nightmare" instead by opening MSHI as the overflow with Hulk, Spidey & Doom ONLY on peak nights (I had the FFP, but unlike now vs then, we didn't get Fridays/Saturday until 2007, so this IOA overflow is a vague distant memory)

Ok understood. Someone else brought it up and I just wanted confirmation if it was the same speculation that I'd heard.

I am a glutton for punishment and read the Facebook HHN pages and they create things from thin air and spread them as fact immediately. It's really wild to ask them the most basic questions about were they heard the rumor and see them swear up and down their uncle at Universal told them.

Those groups are like a trainwreck. Hate to look at it, but can't stop. The cringey "trying to be funny" posts might even be worse than the awful takes lol.
