Certainly a way to deter something like this, but why remove/exclude it from UFF?

Because (my opinion) that is not why they are doing this.

We don’t know if they are. UFF probably will have free parking like always, passes are just not out yet to see. (Unless I missed something that said there was no free parking for UFF also)

It is very possible that revenue is a secondary driver for the parking decision. This could be driven by other factors, such as limiting access to the garages at night when there are a significant number of cars (and people) still in the area... I have a friend who was an uppity up at the mouse (before he retired) that once told me that while charging for parking makes significant revenue, the real reason there are parking fees is because it helps deter crime in the parking lots. But I could be wrong. It has happened before.

2 hour free parking only benefited the frequent fear passes like me. I did it every week. but it was only a dozen or so cars that would be arriving at that time during ffp.
the real problem was the rush of fear days, that was like 50+ cars trying to enter at midnight. cutting each other, people driving wild.
after rush of fear ended it was very light. just a handful of cars here and there. most people were leaving the park.

This is definitely part of it. And there was definitely some issues in the parking lot in the closing hours of HHN last year. Saw some of it in person lol.

what did you see last year? maybe something bad happened last year and they didn't wanna deal with it.
but I don't think anyone will arrive at midnight and pay full parking just for 2 hours of hhn. and if you are a pass holder with parking you would probably arrive earlier.

Nothing crazy. Just some drunks being loud with each other, and a kid going off on a security guard and trying to run away. Seemed to be typical late night rowdy people type stuff, but I have been going to HHN since 2018 and have never personally seen anything like that so it stuck out to me for sure.

(I did bring a guy with me to HHN30 who embarrassed our group and nearly got himself kicked out of the event, but that is a different story. Don't hangout with him anymore)

It's funny, because if they are in fact doing this as an extra revenue booster - I could see it backfiring when barely anyone comes after midnight. I could see this getting walked back fairly quickly lol

yeah my whole thinking here is that they don't have to put a worker there for 2 hours but just close the parking at midnight since there's no real reason to be at citywalk after midnight.
you got coconut club but I doubt anyone is paying to enter it ( and it closes at 1 am)
actually I wonder what's the closing time for everything after midnight. is there anything except the movie theater open after midnight? not the restaurants. they close early I think.
as for hhn, I'm guessing everyone that used the free parking will just park off site or take the bus or just get dropped off.
I just realized if I wanna go this year I'll have to take the city bus and become an early hhn guest again lol.
the last time I took the bus to enter hhn at 6 pm was 2017. almost 10 years ago wow.
