Universal's New Park/Site B Blue Sky Thread

My pie in the sky, absolutely no info whatsoever outside of SNW, thoughts on the composition of Park 3:

-Entrance area themed to Far, Far Away. Tons of jokes on Disney's behalf. A big Shrek boat, maybe flume, ride anchors the land, with maybe some flat rides and a clone of the Dragon Coaster or the Puss in Boots coaster from Singapore
-Berk, with a Dragon-flying E-ticket, definitely some flat rides for "dragon riding training", and a show with the Creature Tech puppets/AAs
-Trolls with a few smaller scale dark rides, a big play area in the Trolls' tree, some sort of dancing street show
-Super Nintendo World as we know it
-Another Nintendo property, whether it's Pokemon or Zelda
-Classic Monsters. I think they'll get their due here.
-The Lost World. Similar to the land in Singapore where they'll throw together some random properties in an Adventure-y setting. Waterworld will finally come to Orlando. Maybe a Godzilla ride here.
-Random 3rd Party Land. I'd personally go after Loony Tunes and Hannah Barbara things here. I know they're "old", but I think there's enough nostalgia to keep them popular.

I'd also say if this year's Fantastic Beasts can be bigger than the last, that will show up in the park.

I love the Shrek idea so much for the new park. Do you think Starbucks have a good enough sense of humour to allow Farbucks Coffee?

I mean, they don't make the Disney parks name the Starbucks locations "Starbucks", so I don't see why not!

I thought that but with Disney it's like a cafe that happens to sell Starbucks coffee, this more tongue in cheek directed at them. Having said that, if Universal are going to sell a million cups of coffee and give them a generous cut, they can do whatever they want.

Dunno how solid the info is/was, but I had heard they were looking at the area where the HHN sprung tents are at one time recently for the show. It's going into Beijing. I will be very, very surprised if it doesn't show up in Park 3.

I'm going to say this will be the biggest Universal park....at earning calls etc they use very specific words for certain reasons and the fact they used gate instead of second resort to potentially bring make this a weeklong trip instead of by Comcast's own world a 2-3 day resort is very telling.

That means in one gate, it should be impossible to do everything in one day. It also hints that the budget for this also may be much higher than expected.

While I don't know if Universal will use LOTR rights in time for the new park, and unsure if they even want the expense since they'll have two similar properties in HTTYD & Zelda, I wouldn't really put much credence in what TPU is saying about LOTR. He seems to be basing his thoughts and writings off of the situation & info that was available when Tolkien's son was controlling the rights. He has, in the past year relinquished that control to the other family members that seem to be taking a much more liberal stance concerning LOTR rights. In other words they're looking more at money windfalls than creative control pickiness.

I would imagine it will be tacked on and the prices will go up.

I think if there was any agreement for LOTR, it would have been announced already. FWIW, I've been told LOTR will not be in Park 3 at opening. Whether they're trying to get it for an expansion or not, I don't know.

If they were to do something TF related, that'd be somewhat problematic considering that a ride already exists for it at USF.

I get the vibe if Doctor Who and Godzilla are considered, it'd be for a generic Sci-Fi land, with an added attraction to make it a rule of three.

Transformers is already at USF. Doctor Who just isn't a big enough property
