Where would that expansion go, hm?

Waterworld and part of another parking lot. Would create a nice secondary loop around Jaws including JP -> Pokémon -> Nintendo -> Potter.

Or much more sadly - Jaws.

Needless to say there are a few options left without them having to get too creative. Singapore is pretty boxed in though.

And as for Hollywood, outside of the current Tram Plaza and Waterworld (along with some CW BS around the plaza); they will exhaust a lot of land once the Lower Lot expansion's are done. Which in a sense, would only lead to one possibility; one that I have started to agree with (as @Jonathan pointed out in the IU Podcast and on the episode of Theme Park Talk that I had with him on), a second gate.

I would imagine Orlando has more expansion space if they so desire for USF, and that they have the 475 acres which could be used for much more.

Yeah I really don't get people saying Pokémon isn't big. Saying that only kids care about it yet it's just like HP. It started around the same time and those people are now buying age and Pokémon lends itself to a great theme park experience.

I wish the old HTF threads existed. There was a huge debate back in the day surrounding Pokémon potentially being the future Kidzone franchise (long before Nintendo was known).

All sorts of aggressive statements about its relevancy. A little ironic in a post Pokémon Go world.

If a franchise can blow up four or five different mediums (video games, TV, trading card games, social phone games) over the period of 2 decades, yes it could also blow up in a theme park. Very few franchises have transcended multiple mediums in the same way. A movie and the tie-in toy aisle is not the same thing. Star Wars and Potter are two such special properties, I believe Pokémon fits that bill.

Yes, I remember some of those Kidzone debates. Some of the younger forum posters suggested Nintendo as an IP for Universal and they were kind of laughed at & shouted down by people telling them no possible way. Well, those kids were right about Nintendo coming in some matter or form. Good for them :)

Funny thing is I feel like a month or two after that is when we first heard about it (I think it was about a year before he actual announcement).

At the time it was an impossible get because Nintendo just didn't license their stuff out...until they did. Was really the right place at the right time

Why wait around for the US parks. We are planing a Osaka/Tokuo Run with LA and Hawaii bookending it in 2020.

Waterworld would never ever ever go in Japan. That Theatre brings in so much money during the summer with the one piece show which is part of the reason it happens yearly and they easily charge up to $42 and it sells out early.

If anything was to go, it would be Spiderman.

Never, ever, ever?

Waterworld will certainly go at some point, that's not the same thing as saying the theatre will go, or be moved, or...

I meant the theatre itself wont go. It is a money maker that houses the two highest rated attractions at USJ.

Never been to USJ but Pokemon would most definitely replace Jaws IMO. It's the same situation as it was at USF; sure, it's a good ride, but it takes up such a massive footprint in such a land-starved park that it needs to inevitably be replaced.

The thread was also closed due to every post throwing everything at a wall, from MLP to Trek (was in some state of development) to Nintendo. A broken clock is correct twice a day.

I wonder if that's why the front gate hotel still hasn't materialized as planned.

I remember then, as that was when my writing was rubbish and almost like a twelve year old.

Still surprised that the Hollywood exhibit hasn't gone to Orlando still, would think that would of made sense.

Nowhere to put it, I guess. Should have a rotating museum where the NBC Media Center is...but alas

I would think the venue from The Last Laugh & Celebration would be perfect for it
