Say what you want, but I'll miss the Curious George section of the park. When I was younger, my sister and I loved playing in the foam ball pit. The water section caused us nothing but grief (some kid drenched us both and that basically ended the day at the parks), but it's classic Universal.

EDIT: My 1000th post!

Congrats on your 1000th post!

Yea, gotta love the Ball Factory. Definitely a unique theme park addition. When I was younger though, this was a walkway to Hard Rock Cafe. And Barney was a replica of the Bates Motel and House. My how things have changed.

Honest admission, that part of Curious George didn't age as well as the water part. I remember it being a lot bigger too. But, man, that might've been my favorite part of Universal when me and my sister were younger.

It'll be interesting to see how popular Splatoon becomes. I'm thinking it's nearing Pikmin levels of popularity right now. If it gets to Metroid (cult favorite, less mainstream) or Kirby (well-known, but not Mario/Zelda status by any means), I think I could eventually have a theme park presence.

Well, Splatoon 1 sold 4.7 million units, and the entire Metroid Prime franchise only sold a little over 7 million

How awkward would it be for a 30 year old single dude to see the Barney show?

The Announcements Timeline is what's really interesting me. Disney killed it with the D23 blue sky extravaganza- stole back a lot of futures PR thunder after Comcast's been on a roll for quite some time.

So, with ground broken in Japan ,which will give us some upcoming visuals we can compare against solid SNW rumors and art leaks: what's Comcast going to announce/leak/roll-out between SNW, the new acreage, things unknown, etc., to get back a little stroke, if anything at all?

The last we've seen was the slightly uncomfortable Nintendo/Uni execs in Mario Gear vid. So, I'm assuming Comcast's aggressive corporate competitiveness is going to want get a "Ok. So you think polka dot minivans and Raccoon Coasters are cool. Well, take a look at this...!" out there at some point.

Yeah I'm expecting a SNW announcement Of some sort when they start closing Kid Zone. Can't wait too long and let Disney get all the publicity.

Also the general public are absolutely clueless. Even long time AP holders are clueless. Most still think SNW is going to be its own park on the Wet n Wild land while another thinks Universal bought the large plot in order to build condos for Orlando. So universal needs to say hey, this is going here.

They'd do it now, but probably don't want to step on HHN announcements which should be coming soon.

I mean UOR still has a IOA project, a USF project, WnW plot, Nintendo, 4th park, F&F, and HHN stuff still...

I'll actually miss the Ball Factory. Much rather have Nintendo, of course. But it was a unique play area. I'm glad I got to say goodbye properly to it all today. It wasn't in my plans but I couldn't help it as I passed by. Figured there's no telling when it'll close and I might not be back for a couple months.

Folks keep talking 'bout CGeorge, but the ball factory is behind that. I doubt anyone would notice if they close that earlier than other stuff.

Sad as that is one of my favorite hideaways w the family...I always see folks having fun in there!

Well that's not as much as Universal's fault than the GP not educating themselves. I remember when the Hulk was going through it's redo, certain people were actively stating that Universal was tearing it down because Disney brought Marvel and UNiversal can't use marvel anymore because the contract was over.

Of course but it's easier when Universal announces things early on.

The Ball Factory and the rest of the Curious George area are linked in multiple ways... Like the ADA ramp for the second story water sprayers goes behind the Ball area. I imagine they would both close at the same time.

I think you guys are all too worried about Disney D23 momentum. Yeah, they're doing a great deal, but all of that combined will be overshadowed when Universal announces the new park.

That thing will be the focus of Orlando when shovels get in the ground to opening day. It feels like it's been forever since a major dry theme park has opened.

Remember, Disney has something to crush the new park.

True, but only SNW and what Comcast plans for the 450+acres excites the GP and mainstream press.

D23 was Iger's "Here's my legacy. Your children and their children will sacrifice animals at the foot of my enormous statue because of this (especially if they are SW geeks). Beat that..." statement.

Nothing gets the the Exec competitive juices flowing than that type of challenge. Considering the long history between many C-levels in both companies, I can only imagine the brain/creative power going into the next Uni announcement.

I can't wait
