So I was watching Celestina's show yesterday and I noticed a woman with a clipboard and lots of notes, and being curious I asked how she was involved in the show - and that was how I met the director of all the Diagon Alley shows, which was awesome considering I love the performers in these shows and the stories are still wonderful to me. We discussed the performances and different colleges for a while, and I was talking about becoming involved in the shows in Diagon Alley. Didn't get any little backstage bits but it was very cool talking to someone who was involved in the show like that!

Was it Anitra? Love her! She was probably doing show approval for a newly trained performer...

Just so everyone knows, the Umbridge on a Unicycle on the second floor of WWW has been removed. A few weeks ago one of the chaines holding the scales broke and she was hitting and scraping the wall and railings. They've repaired all the damage but Umbridge has been removed until further notice. The sound still plays though which is a little odd. The store staff are saying that "the centaurs came and took her away."

Interesting new article on Orlando ride evacuations. Gringotts is mentioned a few times so I put this link here:

Sounds like there was some sort of power issue. I didn't see anything about Gringotts, but I saw Hogwarts Express being evaced on Twitter

Don't know where to put my review of the hogwarts express but here it is. I rode both sides, amazing queues and exteriors on both. I personally enjoyed the hogsmeade station more for just how beautiful and peaceful the surroundings are even though diagons was way more faithful and detailed. The train itself was jaw dropping.....until it goes backwards. I'm sorry it's a dumb thing to complain about but it looks ridiculous. The cabins are beyond comfortable and I adore the fact you can eat in them (ice cream FTW). The ride itself is awesome, once you get over the fact that you are watching a screen, the movie on that screen is incredibly entertaining. Love how both sides are completely different, the speaker system is unreal and the way they point your attention to the door and the window is beyond genius. The door itself was the best effect, when Ron put his head up to the door I swore to god it was a Grint himself. Overall awesome experience, would rather wait in line for this than to go from park to park manually anyday. Relaxing, fun and very detailed. My favorite part of diagon alley

Oh and I guess I should talk about my experience with the interactive wand. Bought voldemorts wand because it looks awesome. I personally had a blast with it, going from window to window, looking for all the secrets was all great fun and I'll definitely bring back my wand to do it again.....however there were some big flaws with the system. It is going to take a couple tries to make each thing work, the trick is to do it subtle instead of large and slow. It can get pretty frustrating especially if there are a crowd of children behind you waiting for your turn as you look like a dumbass failing for a minute or two. I saw many tourists downright give up at some effects witch was sad. Another fatal flaw is that this has sorcerers syndrome, as in you can easily see the effect go off (if there is any sort of line) before you get a chance to go spoiling the surprise. That was a giant bummer in some cases. Other than those though this is something disney should be looking into, the real way to add an awesome interactive element into a land. A way to award exploration of the land and forcing you to enjoy the hidden goodies it serves. Now if only they added areas around the two parks to use them outside of potter land

Yes, those are my feelings on the attraction also. My GF and I absolutely loved it & rode it numerous times during our 2 week stay in September. We found ourselves park hopping much more than we usually do. It was better than we expected, and a definite WOW factor. We took a ton of pictures of the 9 3/4 entrance. That was lots of fun. This is certainly a financial grand slam for Universal. Pure genius to sell more 2 park tickets. And going from one HP area to the other, without encountering any other lands, was a great feeling.

I bought my GF a wand & we had a blast. She was like a young girl with that thing. When we were there, assistant wizards & witches were always nearby to help with the configurations of the movement. So we never really had any difficulties since they would readily assist us if the effects weren't working. This was a real A+ experience.

I really don't get people's complains about the train going backwards. Do you not have train tracks near where you live? Because trains basically go backwards 50% of the time unless you swap or rotate the locomotives.

I've wondered the same thing myself actually, in regard to those posting about the train going backwards. Certainly not an uncommon occurrence...

Oh I definitely know that, had trains all throughout my childhood neighborhood. It's just the hogwarts express has always been seen moving forward, when you see it moonwalking out of the station its a bit funny
