I think there is something to be noted on both sides of the issue. Safety is obviously extremely important, and from the sounds of it there are some serious engineering gaffes, but let's be serious here if wind broke a pane of glass on say the Trump World Tower, a building in NYC that is roughly about as old as the structures in Animal Kingdom, nobody here would be making talking points about how unsafe Donald Trump is for letting his building have a broken window.

These things happen and while I find some less excusable than others there is a bit of a double standard around here. People don't talk about the safety of RockIt, or Dueling Dragons like they do about a lamp post on EE and a branch on the Tree of Life falling.

Has there been any safety issues on Rockit? Serious question. I don't know.

And Dragon's issue was due to guests, not neglect or poor design.

Listen kid you can argue it all you want and try to make me look like a jerk but I am calling it like you said it. You blew off the Tree Limb first and now the light fixture like its acceptable. Its NOT! This kind of stuff should not be happening I assure you. This is a result of cut corners, mistakes, and overall unacceptable standards and last I checked people can be killed by stuff like this.

How many times do I have to state my stance before you let it sink in? It's not acceptable whatsoever. I've mentioned before that WDW should do annual integrity checks before the busy/hurricane season, on top of the daily checks that are completed every morning before opening.

I worry that some of you here are overreacting a bit to the two recent issues at AK. The tree is 14-16 years old depending on how you cut it. It has been through at least two hurricanes, and also has endured flat line winds repeatedly every year since it was built. That is a pretty good track record. I truly believe that it has been discovered that every end branch connection is wearing out far sooner than projected, and thus the nets went up while they come up with a total solution.

The light post. It could be any freak of manufacture, including bolts, base plates, concrete pour, wood. Do you know why it fell over; what failed? I don't. Disney doesn't make bolts, base plates or own a wood mill. Has Disney ordered that all lights on poles be taken down throughout its parks? I doubt it.

The two are just an odd concurrence of events and does not reflect on the overall build quality of AK. When ride effects fail and are not fixed, please eat Disney to pieces, shred them. When it comes to out of doors, cut them some slack.

Thank you. It's not a matter of me "brushing it off," it's a matter of not overreacting. And I'll be certain to continue to shred Disney for not fixing the Yeti and effects on other rides *cough*DINOSAUR*cough*.

Didn't Rockit only valley when no one was riding?

Nope, valleyed a couple of times with people on the ride, but it hasn't ever since I don't think since they changed the wheels during the refurb last year.

I don't think it's ever valleyed with people on the ride but the fact that it valleyed more than once is unexcusable and the fact that the only solution they have found is to not run it when it's frigid or windy says a lot.

It's valleyed with people on it.

Anywho, I rode Everest today. GUEST WHAT?

Still broken.

It was great hearing some of the people after the ride. "Was that the Yeti at the end? I couldn't see anything except maybe it's hand."

Honestly, I remember hearing the same thing when it was in A-mode so many moons ago.

I rode it a few days ago as well. It's seeming to only strobe once and the red eyes weren't lit, either. Disappointing, but I've come to expect it by now.

so, let's see. No mist, no birdy, no yeti, intermittent waterfalls, intermittent train steam. I am positive however, that all of the effects in the backwards part are working brilliantly... right? Beyond the pale.

A podcast I listen to is encouraging listeners to comment about anything on the Disney Parks Blog, and end it with the phrase "but the Yeti is still broken". Spread the word

Me thinks this is fake. Thoughts?

From Joe Rohde's supposed FB page:

UPDATE ON THE YETI: Efforts are being made to bring the Yeti back to life, and restore at least some of its movement for good. In the near future, your Expedition Everest experience may lack the yeti entirely- if/when this happens please post pictures!

Again, I think this is a fake FB page that someone set up but I thought it would be worth posting since nothing else is happening with the Yeti.
