What’s insane is that we could actually get GTA 6 before getting to ride this.

Looking forward to Orlando's Hollywood Drift likely being able to get up and running with no issues. At this rate whose to say both will open at the same time?

The last time I was there, I drove through that neighborhood. It's a beautiful area, and I remember Universal installing sound walls along the top of their side of the hill.

I didn’t think the walls looked very good.

I can't imagine living in such a scenic neighborhood and preferring to look at a wall instead of having a view of the theme park below.

The whole situation just seems a little overblown to me. At that distance, I'd imagine the screams are pretty faint. They're not especially loud to begin with, and they have to carry quite a long way.

The noise is not stopping the ride from running, literally nothing the residents can do. Paid media coverage someone wanted to have that story ran. The ride is down probably from that spoiler flying off which I can say probably did happen as I heard this now from multiple people that I trust.

What's your source on the paid media coverage?

The spoiler flying off strikes me as an echo chamber issue.

It's a rollercoaster by Intamin. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

If we see new Walls going up then sure but also...without Universal of the City making statements this is just another rumor and sooooo many people are acting like its facts (influencesr)

And I’ve been hearing (for a few days now) that Universal’s sound testing with the TM screams exceeded the permitted levels.

Guess we can both be wrong.

Can they just ask people not to scream? Easy enough. Right?

Welcome to the first ever no scream coaster. If you scream, banned from the park. Compliance should be high. Right?

uh oh...

Edit; And nevermind! FOX 11 posted an article and Twitter post saying the coaster is delayed till the end of the year due to the sound issues... and it was taken down the moment I decided to post it here. When has local news ever posted anything genuine about a roller coaster, let alone a theme park?

The actual article had removed all mentions of being delayed.

I'm not seeing Universal Hollywood Press Statement on the Coaster, if its official they'd have a statement out?

Exactly, and as someone on the forum mentioned the trains are having an issue but that doesn't mean the ride is delayed significantly. Why would Fox 11 know about the coaster delay before Universal themselves haha

The video piece you linked includes a reported statement from a Universal spokesperson who did not deny the noise issues. The reporter then says that the ride is "expected to open this year." It's unclear if that was part of Universal's statement, or just something the reporter said.

I do think it's very interesting that the FOX piece has seemingly retracted mentions of the delay without a formal correction notice.

If I were a reporter for an outlet with weight to throw around, I'd be asking Universal for an official comment right now about whether the attraction is still on track to open this summer.

Finally: A reminder that Theme Park Wizard's article is speculation. I don't know about their track record with scoops, but it shouldn't be immediately taken as fact.
