I went yesterday....who ever made the decision to throw a a huge event that had tons of busses with people on them.....on your last Saturday of a popular event and spring break...Thank you. It didn't upset any of the people In huge food lines I saw

Whats funny to me is Knotts has many....many of the same issues as Six Flags with slow ops and areas that get too hot, slow moving food lines...etc. But because of the area Knotts gets away with it

People in that area that can't afford Disneyland or grew up with the park just go but man do the people running this park no care at all about guests.

I know you need to make money but yesterday was really bad, the lines were longer then Ive ever seen them for food

Parking was also not that fun, they had a whole lot closed for a private event and the parking lot I got in which was dirt, didn't seem like it had any more spaces but they kept letting people in and I have no idea where most of them parked because I barley found a spot

The Soda Machine is back in the AP Lounge but was out of Ice most the day, they had only raisin oatmeal cookies as snacks as well. If you wanted food the lines for all restaurants I saw or went to were out the door

Anyway, I mostly just do shows there so its not the worst day but man....I just don't understand how much fun your having waiting 90-120 mins for rides.but once again this park seems just in a position to treat the guests not that great and still fill up, so until guests stop coming I guess like Disneyland they can do whatever they want

I also like to add on along with park placement, is the cleanliness and good theming in the park. Miles above SFMM, thus generating good word of mouth and family revisit value.

That stuff offsets the bad ride operations whereas SFMM suffers in all areas.

Its many factors

Knotts is the better park for families, its cheaper then most parks near by, well themed in many areas, lots of great show...etc

But also days like Last weekend...it shows how poorly managed alot of this park is managed

If it was just a busy day, sucks and things can be better but this day was helped made worst by closing off an entire parking lot for an event and inviting buss loads of extra people on one of the busiest weekends already.

I love Knotts as a place but just not a fan of how they do lots of its business and its the Flag ship park and wish it just got more love. But if you look op the lines for food last weekend...that was a joke. We are talking lines over double what you see at Food and Wine down the street

In my perfect world, this park is sold to Herschend, and Magic Mountain stays Six Flags' main Southern California park. (this will never happen) If they don't do that, they need to differentiate the two parks, Knott's themeing food, and families' magic mountain big coasters.

Yeah, I agree with @Jerroddragon — Knott's is basically a Nissan. Sure, it's better than buying a Mitsubishi and it's way cheaper than buying a Mercedes ... but it's also, you know, a Nissan. So elements of the experience are going to be frustrating. If I was an out of town visitor and sprung for whatever they're calling Fast Lane these days, that's one thing. But it's really limited (for me) as a locals park because not only are the ride lines nuts and very slow-moving... so are the food lines.

To me, it doesn't come down to "Disneyland vs. Knott's" because if I'm not paying to go to Disneyland, I'd rather just ... go do something else with my time and money. And it's frustrating because it doesn't have to be that way. They could better staff their food booths, they could be better organized, the managers could actually walk the park and get involved with making things work instead of hiding in their air-conditioned portables most of the day.

But these things don't happen! And so if I go to Knott's, I go right when it opens, go on a few rides and then bail when the crowds arrive. Which ... is basically the exact same thing I do at Magic Mountain.

I was also there on Saturday and was anticipating it to be busy, being it's still spring break and the last weekend of the Boysenberry Festival (which they didn't expand this year I guess?)

Anyway, it was way busier than I expected. Maybe it was just me, but it was almost claustrophobically busy around Ghost Town. Essentially we did a lap around the park, watched Brother Yusef for a bit (excellent!), and bailed. It was just too much. Next year I'll try to go to the festival on a weekday.

1) I saw from Reddit/Facebook people saying last year and other years there was more rain, meaning some days the park closed/low attendance and so they would throw on a few more dates but this year nothing like that happen and from the lines I'm sure they are close to out of the food for the season, I heard some items were selling out before it ended
2) Brother Yusef is amazing and wish they gave him a stage or at least a place people can watch him.
3) Ghosttown was the worst area but even places the the BBQ restaurant on the boardwalk had lines over 20-30 mins most the day (I went here twice so sadly did that line twice), the restaurants in Fiesta Village were out the door and the Wildness Lounge when I was there around 4 PM was insane...the line was out the door to get in and went over to the Woodcutting area

Once again, I don't blame them for being busy...but can fault them for having a parking lot down and having an event the same Day. If they could handle it better then whatever but I could not find parking for a little while and even then the lot I went in was basically full when I got there at 2ish PM and the park was closing at 10 PM

Ah, that makes sense about the rain in previous years. I also thought that maybe the threat of rain on Sunday pushed some people to go Saturday as well.
